Greetings, adventurers!

Happy #MushAnch Monday!

Guess what? I have zero news. As this continues to be a trend, and in the interest of cutting down the inundation in your inboxes, I’m going to do us all a favour and cut down the updates to once monthly. #MushAnch Monday will now be the first Monday of every month, rather than every other Monday, at least until we start seeing some forward movement. I know that Inkshares has a lot of projects and I don’t want to rush anything. That said, I also want to keep you informed and in the loop and make sure you know that everything is still being worked on.

As I will be updating less here, I’d like to direct you to my newsletter on my website, the Practical Escapist--scroll to the bottom to subscribe. I promise: that, too, will only be once monthly, but you’ll be able to hear about my various projects. Maybe we’ll do a giveaway, too. I also update weekly on my Patreon page, where I slowly trickle out blog posts, recipes, doodles, and more. I hope to resume my webcomic within the next few months, as well.

I’m considering doing some Youtube videos, but I’m not sure what would be interesting for you to watch. What would you like to see me do? What would you like to see me talk about?

I just want to take a quick moment and say thanks to you for taking this ride with me. If you have contributed monetarily, with likes, with shares, with comments, with subscriptions or follows, thank you. I haven’t been as active as I’d like this year, but I’m hoping that this has set up for a much more active 2019.

Thanks for everything, and talk to you soon.

May your adventures be fraught with wonder and just enough peril to keep them interesting,

    Greetings, adventurers!

A happy #MushAnch Monday to you all!

I’d like to start by wishing good luck to everyone currently participating in NaNoWriMo. Mushroom and Anchovy actually started off as three separate NaNoWriMo books ten years ago, and now it’s in the process of becoming an actual physical book for you all to read.

I may not have any news, but I wanted to check in and let you all know that my next project is well underway. I won’t go into too much detail, but its name is Mossheart. I will be sure to post updates as I go through my various channels. I am typically posting mostly through my website, the Practical Escapist, my Facebook page, as well as my Patreon page.

Things remain busy here as we try to sell our house before Christmas (eep!), but I’m still managing to get some work done. I hope everyone’s enjoyed a fantastic Halloween--we certainly did.

See you next time, adventurers. Until then, may your adventure be fraught with wonder and just enough peril to keep them interesting,

    K. M. Cooper

      Hey Fans, Followers, and Fungi,

That one’s for you, Coop. When I was a youngster, we gave everyone nicknames. I still do, so if you don’t have yours yet, just let me know and we’ll get on that.

Ruining Boise update. Haven’t spent a lot of time with it, work is out of control, but I’ve been exploring themes and using Scrivener to create character sketches, map location scenes and capture ideas. This is new to me. I use Scrivener to write—love it as a writing tool—but mostly was blank paging it. My thought is to develop this as far as I can so it becomes a repeatable process to produce an outline to guide the writing. This is the current arrangement, inspired by Mike, that we thought might connect two stubborn authors into an effective collaboration. And to avoid bloodshed. Unless that’s what you really want…I think Mike’s been taking karate…

This is what I’m doing while waiting for the MINE manuscript to come back from my personal editor before sending it back to the Inkshares editor. If anyone out there needs the services of a professional dev editor, reach out. Mine (hehe) is a superstar. The Inkshares editor ain’t no slouch neither. Two superstars for the price of one!

I’m going to start with the opener, storyboard it. I like to jump right into the action, and have an idea for that allows for a lot of showing not telling of the situation...I’ll be sending that to Mike when it’s more fleshy, but don’t want to distract him either, as he’s engaged in writing his 2nd pass on PrOOF, so it may not come for a while. The point is, I’m dabbling with this story line, sketching it around the edges, and if we don’t realize any payoff with this current promotion, we shall return.

Want to mention a few authors who’ve been supportive with a shout out.

Celso’s paranormal novel in the Horror Contest deserves a look

Go watch Chip’s reading of his first chapter. I want to hire this guy to read MINE

Durena Burns memoir. This book deserves more attention, IMO

Nick’s entry in the Horror Contest, who doesn’t love a snipe hunt?

Hope you all enjoyed a wonderfully horrifying Halloween!

        Greetings, Adventurers!

It seems I completely forgot about #MuchAnch Monday this week in light of all the busy-ness going on. We’re currently selling our house in favour of moving into a bigger one in a smaller community nearby, and that’s kept us on our toes.

Also... WE GOT A NEW KITTEN. Meet Mystery, our third fur-child. Our human-child is absolutely enamoured with him, as are we!

As such, I don’t have any updates for you. I’ve been out of the house, cleaning the house, and doing just about everything but writing in and around the house. I haven’t even been cooking and, unfortunately, a whole lot of takeout has been the go-to, so I haven’t even put any new recipes on the blog--not even ones that are done!

The good news is that this should all be over soon and I should be in a new space before long. I hope so! I have plans for an "office nook", and if you’re interested, I’ll keep you updated on the progress of that.

In the meantime, please feel free to join me on Instagram @thepracticalescapist and on Twitter @ThePracticalEsc for updates. Please follow me on Insragram, because I’d love to hit 666 followers before Halloween... ;)

        That’s it for now, adventurers.

May your travels be fraught with wonder and just enough peril to keep them interesting,

          Greetings, adventurers!

          Happy #MushAnch Monday (on Tuesday)!

I know I said I would update you on every other Monday, but yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving, so I hope you’ll forgive me for taking the day off. I was out camping with my husband and daughter, as well as spending time with other family members. But, here I am now!

Unsurprisingly, I have, as yet nothing yet to update. The autumn has been rainy here on the east coast of Canada so far, but I managed to sneak out last weekend to do a bit of solo camping and plan my next project. For updates on that and more, you can check out my Instagram and my new website, The Practical Escapist, which I let you know about last time.

I’ll keep plugging away on this end and updating you when I can. I know that one MushAnch Monday will be the one that I have news for you. Thank you for your ongoing patience!

And then, on a Tuesday like any other, this happened: "Your novel Release Date is November 13, 2018....!"

It’s finally happening thank you, so much, for your continued love and patience. I will be in touch with more details in coming weeks :)

              Happy #MushAnch Monday!

As expected, I don’t have anything new to report today. Just a part of the process! But, as I’ve been saying, I’m keeping accountable with a bi-weekly check-in. So, hello!

I do, however, want to point you in a few directions where I have been very busy and active of late, and I’m posting a ton of free content for your enjoyment. My new website, The Practical Escapist, has officially launched, and I’ve been trying to keep up with a blog post and a recipe a week. A post that may be of interest deals with my lengthy silence--give it a read if you’re interested!

I hope to have some news for you soon. September came and went with a flurry of activity, and I’m finding it hard to believe that we’re just a week away from October. How was your month? Was it productive, relaxing? I’d love to hear more!
