Blood Dawn is DONE!

Despite that 4 months of intensive revision lay ahead before I submit to Inkshares, reaching those words, "THE END" (as you'll see if you visit my Instagram here) felt like one of the most significant milestones in what has been 67 weeks of steady commitment to producing a solid draft.

I'm feeling immense accomplishment today!  By finishing Blood Dawn, I have finally translated the entirety of this story from my mind to actual words that other people can read -- and it holds together well and tells a riveting tale.  And by using the editorial coaching program, Author Accelerator, I've been able to absolutely nail my first draft, knowing that the amount of revision required will be completely doable in the four month time frame I've allotted myself. (Check out my timeline if you're curious how that process looks.)

I'm excited now to update my Blood Dawn page to read, "The draft is complete." I'm excited to share this book with readers telling them not only that this book will be published but that the draft is done and it all worked out and I'm now busy making it shine.

If you haven't purchased your copy of Blood Dawn yet, now is the perfect time to do so.

Thank you so much for your support!

Chris Robinson liked an update for The Children of the Forest

Hello all of you lovely readers and followers out there! I hope everyone's holidays have been as enjoyable as mine, and now that I've cleared the copious banquets of never-ending food and drink, I've returned to oversee work on The Children of the Forest as we enter the final weeks of the 2nd Sword & Laser contest!

Right now, the book is sitting on 3rd place, but with so much time left, that could easily change! Local fundraising has been going strong, but I've unfortunately not extended the same oversight to my followers online and elsewhere. I'd like to remind everyone who has yet to pre-order a copy of the story that the book is still part of my "Amazon Gift-Card Raffle" which entitles one lucky winner to a $250.00 gift card to Amazon, with the drawing to be held on the 15th of January. Every purchase of one or more copies of my book enters you for a chance to win this wonderful prize!

My current goal for the book is to clear 100 unique sales before the end of the contest. I think is more than doable, but it requires everyone who is the following the book, but has yet to purchase a copy, to pre-order now! I've recently updated the page with several new chapters, edits, and descriptions, so go over and give the page and the samples a look, and lend me your support so we can guarantee The Children of the Forest a publishing deal!

Finally, in the next week I will be featured on television as a guest for the incredible show, "Off Beat Cinema!"   http://www.offbeatcinema.tv

The interview will be posted on the book page following its airing, and hopefully everyone will enjoy getting to hear/see me discuss some aspects of the contest, writing in general, and the book!

I hope everyone has a great and safe time celebrating the New Year!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, I hope they are great for you!

I want to say thanks again for giving me the chance to get Ageless out there; it's one of the greatest gifts I have received in 2015.

Well wishes to you and yours for the holidays and into the New Year.

        Machiners!

We have entered Winter, officially speaking, but the weather is hardly frightful and our spirits are so delightful. What a day!

First and foremost, my congratulations to Tony Valdez on reaching 250 pre-orders for his comedic SciFi romp Dax Harrison!  Meaning books will be on the way! This is really well deserved. Great concept, awesome writing, hard work - check all the boxes. Also, amazing to see how the Inkshares community really banded together to push a colleague toward the finish line. Love it.

OnThe Last Machine front the beat goes on and such a groovy beat it is.

The Review-a-Thon this past Saturday was fantastic. Thanks to A.C. Weston for coordinating which undoubtedly took much time and effort. It yielded some amazing reviews for the novella, which I am very thankful for. Some of them I have been able to reciprocate already. Others I haven't gotten to yet. But I will. I promise. Thanks to Michael Valdez, AR Patterson, Jason Pomerance, Dave Barrett, and Byron Gillan for their wonderful words. It really does mean a great deal.

We've now surpassed 80 readers!! Thank you to all the new followers and supporters. Because we hit 75, I've conducted a clandestine raffle of unknown scope and substance....

And the winners are Melissa Berg and Peter Birdsall. You have each won a signed copy of Alter Ego No. 91 from January 2010. It's a super cool magazine and has an epic interview covering basically every topic possible with my friend and The Last Machine artist Jack Katz. Here are a couple of images for you:

We're at 81 readers so we might as well shoot for 100. Yeah, why not? Maybe we can do that by Sunday? Let's try. More cool stuff to come if we make it.

Science fiction WITH A BOOT TO THE FACE.  Hard-ass space marines take care of business with speed and elan. The pace of the writing zips along - high action, with strong quippy dialogue -- I was unconsciously reaching for the tub of popcorn at my side a few hundred words in. I've only read the first chapter - because that was all I needed to know that I wanted to read the whole thing in its completed form - but Paul's already put up the first 8 chapters for perusal like a madman if you need more convincing. This thing is clearly for fans of Alien, Ghost Recon, Gears of War, or just gunmetal sci-fi that with a high body count.
