M. Robert Randolph liked an update for Children of the Dire: The Renegade Blade

We did it, wolf pack!

We’ve made it to 90 readers and it’s all thanks to you lovely people. To celebrate this wonderful feat I have uploaded three second PoV chapters. I hope you take the time to read them, comments  are always welcome.

On another note, the Geek and Sundry contest is now open and despite how much I wish to participate, I want to uphold my promise to start funding in the late fall. I have a lot on my plate at this time and I want to be able to finish my work before funding. I guess I am strange that way. I think it would be too much to juggle working, funding and editing if I join in on the contest. But that is good news for my fellow writers! There are so many AMAZING ideas and projects out there, so instead of funding now I am going to use my time to edit, rewrite and help some people out with their projects in the contest.

The stars are just not right for me to join. But nevertheless I will be working hard on "Children of the Dire". We are close to 100 readers and that is an achievement in my mind. Maybe in the future if they have another contest but right now I want to focus on making my series the best it can be.

    M. Robert Randolph liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Every once in a while, something will happen that reassures me Tantalus Depths is really succeeding where it matters.

Getting picked by the Break the Bechdel Syndicate was one of those, as it reassured me that Tantalus Depths was doing an effective job of representing strong female characters, which was crucial for me. Getting picked by the Great Sci Fi Syndicate was another, as it reassured me that I was effectively creating a science fiction work that embodied the best aspects of this genre I love so much. There have been many little things along the way that provide similar assurances that I’m on the right track, either in the form of reviews, recommendations, or general feedback. Today I was honored in a totally new way.

KSU Trumbull, the university branch responsible for almost all of my college education, did me the great honor of coming to me and holding this interview to promote my book. This is the same college where I honed my writing skills, took advanced literature classes, learned character development from theatre classes...heck, Tantalus Depths was written for classes at this school. The fact that they’d honor me by highlighting my work is a tremendous honor that I’m still processing.
Please go ahead and check out this interview.
Also! Tantalus Depths is now only 87 pre-orders away from FULL PUBLISHING. We have a bit less than 13 days to get there. We are SO close, everyone. Keep pushing!

      M. Robert Randolph liked an update for Kingdom of Dreams

      Dear Kingdom of Dream followers,

Well, my standing on the sidelines is over. Kingdom of Dreams has been entered in the Geek & Sundry Fantasy contest! (Thank you, Inkshares.)

I have stiff competition, so I’ll need every order possible. You can purchase from one to ten copies of any tier. (Now’s the time to use those $5 coupons for signing up if you haven’t already!) Never fear, I will give back to you as well for each pledge of support. I have lots to offer: everything from magnets and homemade dog biscuits to original artwork. All proceeds will be used to fund my ultimate goal of printing a version of my story that will represent each major ethnicity. Here’s the quick idea sketch that can become reality:

Please check out my newly refreshed project page and order here: https://www.inkshares.com/books/kingdom-of-dreams

Thanks for your support and reach out with any questions. Francis will also keep you updated when relevant.

      Thanks again!

        M. Robert Randolph liked an update for A Beast Requires

It’s been an interesting year, and with all the progress that I’ve made, I now find myself back at the beginning. I loved being a part of the Nerdist contest. I was able to connect and ultimately friend some outstanding writers, discover some amazing books, and push myself harder than I ever thought possible. It was a rollercoaster of tears; tears of joy, tears of frustration, and tears of sorrow. And yea, I didn’t make it, but in my mind I didn’t ultimately fail.

        I won.

        I became a better writer.

A year later and it’s a brand new day. Geek & Sundry are running a contest for fantasy stories, and I just so happen to have one ready. Why this contest? Because Felicia Day is one of my spirit animals, and I won’t let my previous failure define who I am as a writer.

So many of you supported me last time around, and here I am hat in hand, asking if you’d consider supporting me once again. Because even through A Beast Requires didn’t make its goal, your support pushed me to keep on editing and revising. It pushed me to get better, to be better, and I think you’ll all be happy with what I’ve accomplished.

Once again, for just $10 you get the chance to back me, and get a sparkling edition of A Beast Requires as an ebook. There’s also a dead tree edition… I mean paperback, for $20, which will come with that fabulous, one of a kind, new book smell.

It’s going to be a long campaign, and I know I’m going to have to push it if I want to stay in the top ten of Geek and Sundry’s Fantasy Contest. With your help, I can do this. With your help, we can see A Beast Requires in print, and I can so totally shove it in the faces of all the dudes who picked on me in high school.

So once again it’s time to #feedthebeast

        Let’s do this.
