Deborah Munro sent an update for APEX

HELP!! In the past hour, the 4th place book (which hasn’t posted a single sale in over a week) has dumped 23 pre-orders into the queue in an attempt to take over 3rd place. It’s not the way I like to operate, but now I have to respond. I really want to get my book published, and if I don’t hold onto 3rd place, it’s over.

If you haven’t ordered a copy yet and you think my book is better than the 4th place contender, please pre-order RIGHT NOW. You have about ONE HOUR to "vote" for which book you’d like to see published. If you have already purchased a copy, purchasing another will NOT help me. I need you to find a friend or loved one to purchase a copy for themselves.

Thank you all for your fantastic support, and let’s hope we can hold onto 3rd place!

Sincerely, Debbie

    Hello, lovely readers!

We’ve almost reached the end! The Geek and Sundry contest ends on October 31st, which is just a few days away! We’re holding 4th place, but 5th place is making a determined run. I would LOVE to achieve that 4th place finish, so tell your friends to order! And if you haven’t ordered yet, time is running out, and I’d greatly appreciate your support.

At this point in the contest, many authors are offering incentives. The first place authors are even offering to critique your writing! How cool is that? Unfortunately, I can’t quite do that. So for what it’s worth, here’s my offer:

If you or someone you refer pre-orders my book before the contest ends, I will--wait for it--solve a math problem for you. That’s right! Send me a problem of any level through calculus, and I will explain how to solve it for you!

Hey, I’m a math tutor. I’m working with what I’ve got.

Now that I know people will be lining up in droves, I’d like to seriously say, thank you so much for your support. Honestly, with over 200 books in this contest, I did not expect to do this well. So thank you, and if you’ve got anyone else you can recommend The Fairy Stepmother, Inc. to, I’d be appreciative to the infinitieth power.

    Best,

    Maggie

      Dearest Readers,

Thank you all so much for your fantastic support the past two weeks. You are amazing! We’ve slowly, slowly inched up in the standings and are now in third place by several pre-orders, but there’s still a week to go, and we can’t be complacent. Right now, it’s more important than ever to get those last minute pre-orders to ensure that I’m able to publish my book and provide everyone their copy. It would be so disappointing to work this hard only to lose out in the last moment and have to refund everyone’s money.

Please try to get ONE additional person, maybe your significant other, parent, or child, to pre-order a copy TODAY using their email and username. The scoring in the contest is based on the number of unique readers, not total sales. Every single sale we can bring in makes a huge difference, as the sales gap between 1st through 4th places in the contest is only about 20 pre-orders.

One more week of focus on this contest, and then I’ll get back to writing in earnest to polish the second draft of APEX and get it to the editors for a thorough review!

Also, I want to make a shout out for @John Dennehy, author of Illegal. He achieved 750 pre-orders and was all set for getting his book published when there was a glitch, and Inkshares issued a refund to everyone! :( Now, it appears there’s some confusion about whether or not he’ll be able to get all of his pre-orders back. Please consider purchasing a copy of his excellent memoir to help him recover from this tragedy.

      Thanks, Debbie
