WE. DID. IT.

First things first, congratulations to Paul, Kate, and Susan. This was hard, so, way to persevere. This was not for the faint of heart and you guys did GREAT!

Now, to my people: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I’m sure you are tired of hearing it, but everyone is getting a THANK YOU. This would not have been possible without you. So when I say, "we did it" I truly mean this was a "we" thing. And I am so excited to get to share this experience with you!

More to come, for sure.

Your very grateful friend,

Meghan Godwin

    10/18/17

    Good morning, everyone!

I wish I could be running through my office popping some champagne, but alas we came up about 20 readers short of getting into the Top Three.

I do want to say congratulations to Paul, Kate, and Meghan -- you all have what look like amazing stories, and I know all of your readers (including me) are eager to get them.

THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me and my story so far. Your support and well wishes mean the world to me, they really do.

But things are not over for "Devil" quite yet. I’m going to take a few days to be disappointed (’cause I am, I gotta be honest: when you want to be in the Top 3, fourth place kinda sucks :-) ) and recuperate. Doing this campaigning can be really mentally and emotionally draining.

However, my funding window is still open and there is no reason that "The Devil You Don’t" can’t hit the Quill funding level or better. So, after a pout and a nap, I will turn my attention to figuring out how to make that happen... because I really do believe "The Devil You Don’t" is a great story and I want to make sure you all get a chance to enjoy it.

I’ll keep you posted. Thank you again.

    Best,
    Susan
I probably need all of the above. :-)

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Kill Creek

      Greetings from Kill Creek!

Yet another milestone today: digital copies of the book went out to those who pre-ordered!

Hopefully you’ve all been able to open the files.  If not, please contact Inkshares at hello@inkshares.com so they can help you troubleshoot.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to have these first copies of KILL CREEK out there in the world.  I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks.  So far, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.  Just today, KILL CREEK was included on a Barnes & Noble list of the best ghost/witch stories.  Fingers crossed from more great reviews.

Now there’s one more way you can support this book: once you’ve had a chance to read it, please go to Goodreads and/or Amazon and leave a review on the book’s page.  Your reviews are incredibly important in helping KILL CREEK find a wider audience.  For all five star reviews, I will send you a mental high-five that will smack you when you most need it!

Because editorial took longer than expected, those of you who pre-ordered paperback copies should have them by the end of the month (if not earlier).  I’ll give you an update as soon as I have a hard date on that, but sit tight, it’s coming soon!

In the meantime, enjoy your digital copy.  And thank you all for helping me make this dream come true.  I couldn’t have done it without all of you.

      Best,

      Scott

Well, we are down to hours and I continue to tell myself that the silvery strands in my hair are sparkles and not grey hair from stress.

Last 24 hours have been, as I suspected they would be, wild. I gained some ground and then lost it again. So, "Devil" remains in 4th place right now with a little distance to make up before the final aria gets belted out.

We can still get Devil into the Top Three, but that means mustering the troops. As always, this is a team sport.

So, how can you help? I’m glad you asked!

If you have already ordered a copy... if each of you could get one person--just one!--to put in a pre-order before 10:00 pm Pacific time, that would be beyond amazing, and would make a HUGE difference. So if you’re at the office, hit up a friend in the cube next to you. Call your best friend (or your sibling or spouse), tell them you’re sending an email, and you need a favor...

In fact, here’s some information you can send them: My friend, Susan, has a novel manuscript that’s in a national competition, and she could win a full publishing package for her book. The contest ends tonight at 10 pm West Coast time. Do me a favor and order a copy--I know she’d appreciate the support: https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-devil-you-don-t

If you have NOT ordered a copy yet... That’s a super easy solution! PLEASE put in a pre-order. You have the chance to be my Fairy Godmother today, how epic would that credit be on your resume?

And don’t forget, if we make the Top Three and win this bad boy, I will be doing a "thank you for your support" raffle for all of my readers -- for a $100 Amazon gift card.

No matter what happens at the end of the competition, I could not ask for a better set of friends, colleagues, and fans...

        Best,
        Susan

Hello! Well, we are certainly coming down to the wire in Launchpad and I think I’m going to have grey hair and high blood pressure by the time we’re done.

Right now, less than 20 pre-orders stand between "The Devil You Don’t" and that third place spot! So a HUGE thank you to those of you who have ordered and gotten me this far. WE ARE SO CLOSE!

I am doing my best to network and contact all of my prospects, and hopefully will see more orders come in to propel us up into that third place spot (or better!). Please, if you have not ordered yet, it would be a tremendous boost to have you become an official reader.

The competition will end on October 17 -- That’s in just a few days!

And don’t forget: If I’m in the Top 3 at the end of the competition, I will be doing a "thank you" raffle for everyone who pre-orders a copy, and the prize is a $100 Amazon gift card!

And speaking of raffles. I’m happy to announce that the winners of my first raffle were Tracey Bigelow (gift card) and Trinity McKay (signed copy of "Darkstar Rising"). And I just passed my 100 reader mark, so as promised, I’ve done the second drawing. The lucky winners are Karen Bradbury (gift card) and Jessica Hackett (signed copy of "Darkstar Rising")! Congratulations.

I’ll send another update before the competition ends -- thank you for your support and enthusiasm. You guys are the best readers ever!

          All the best,
          Susan

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Tantalus Depths

It almost snuck past me entirely, but today marks the one year anniversary of hitting my full funding goal for Tantalus Depths! Things have moved a lot more slowly since then than I’d thought they would, but this remains one of the proudest achievements in my life, and I am still so far beyond grateful for the huge outpouring of help from all my friends and family that made this thing possible.

No particular news on the editing process to speak of at the moment; I am continuing to work on integrating the feedback from my editor into the development draft and hope to have a new and improved draft for the next step of the process in the next week or two. I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on this landmark that got us to where we are today. I can’t wait until this editing stage is complete and you all have physical copies of the book in your hands. It’s been such a privilege being given this rare opportunity to share the passion of my heart with so many supportive people. Here’s to Tantalus Depths, Proteus, and many more such successes in the future!

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Dax Harrison

You all have a habit of making me feel special.

There you go, making me feel special, and then I get all mushy with the feelings, and it’s disgusting for everyone. So this is all your fault. You monsters. ;)

Today, Inkshares posted an image of a pile of DAX HARRISON books, ready to be sent out to all of you fine folks who backed it. The physical books, existing in real life, sitting in their office.

I re-shared the photo, and my little corner of the Internet blew up. The outpouring of love, support and excitement from friends, family, colleagues and so forth was ridiculous. I even had a friend or two saying "What?! How did I miss this?! Where can I get this thing?!" Haha.

By the way, if you didn’t catch my previous official cover reveal on social media, there it is, in all its glory. Another very special thanks to Jessica R. Van Hulle (theladyjessica.com) and Seth Kinkaid (sethkinkaid.com) for their stunning painting and graphic design work. You better believe I’m making posters of this baby for conventions and book signings!

"WHEN DO I GET MY BOOK, TONY?!"

Backer copies will be shipping out this week! I believe Inkshares should be sending out an email asking you to confirm your shipping address, but I encourage you to log in at Inkshares.com and double-check your saved address just in case.

For those of you who ordered e-book copies, you can expect an email with a download link sometime next week. If you accidentally lose the email, don’t panic. You can access your purchased e-books anytime at Inkshares.com under your "Bookshelf". And if anyone still has trouble, you can always reach me at rockhollywood8@gmail.com, or send questions to the Inkshares team at hello@inkshares.com.

You know what’s ironic about all these long updates I write? The book itself is actually a pretty quick read. You’d think I would have written a much more long-winded story. I guess I’m saving it for Dax 2...

That’s all for now. It honestly feels VERY silly making such a big deal over a little comedy book. But the world deserves laughter. It really, really does.

I hope Dax gives you a chuckle or two!

              -Tony

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Arch-Android

                Well hello there,

So? How was your summer? Mine was busy. Too busy to run a book funding campaign properly. I started funding Arch-Android around the time of Nerdtacular in late June. It got a good start but soon after I got caught up in going to other conventions like Necronomicon and DragonCon along with promoting A God in the Shed after its June 15 release.

                I dropped the ball.

                But I’m back!

Inkshares was good enough to grant an extension to the Arch-Android campaign. Let’s get 750 pre-orders as soon as possible and get this over with. The faster this funds, the faster you can read the final product and I am so eager for you to read this one.

Here’s what you can do to help:

                • If you haven’t, read The Life Engineered (it’s only 0.99$ on Inkshares right now)
                • Pre-order one (or more) copy(ies) of Arch-Android
                • Encourage your friends and family to also pre-order by lending them your copy of The Life Engineered

What do you get for helping?

                • Every pre-order and reference gives you an additional chance to win a KOBO Aura ebook reader with original art by me on the back
                • 3 or more pre-orders gets your name in the acknowledgements in the back of the book
                •  All physical copies are signed and come with an exclusive bookmark
                • Participation in any further promotion I may add as the campaign progresses
                • My eternal gratitude

So there you have it. Expect more updates and more previews and information as this campaign progresses. The campaign ends on December 7th.

Above: The KOBO Aura ebook reader

                Thanks!

                  10/9/17

Well, it has been a day full of surprises, let me tell you!

First, I learned today (and it was confirmed by Elena), that the original deadline for Launchpad was incorrect! That’s right -- all this time I’ve been working towards a 10/10 finish when the real contest deadline is October 16 (that’s next Monday).

So I am psyched to have the chance to continue building my reader base over the next week, but I know all the other authors will be doing the same thing, so I will keep at it right until the end. The thing that terrifies me about this is that I built my entire marketing plan around that first date so now, I’m flying without a net a little. But that’s where the magic happens, right?

Second, I was thrilled to learn today that "The Devil You Don’t" was selected as the October pick for the Rite of Passage Syndicate on Inkshares. I am delighted and humbled that this wonderful group of folks has elected to throw their backing behind my book.

Where does that leave things then?

As of right now--with one week left--I am in fourth place, and thanks to the syndicate and several orders that have come in over the past 24 hours, am working towards that elusive top three. But there is a lot of time left, and I can’t just kick back and assume orders will roll in. I know it takes a lot of focus and hard work to bring in pre-orders, and I’m up for the challenge.

If you haven’t ordered yet, the clock has reset, but it is still winding down. Please consider a pre-order -- if not for you, a gift for the book lover in your life? A donation to your local library? The possibilities are endless!

And if you have ordered, you know you have my constant and sincere thanks for your support.

I’ll update again soon. Until then, "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more."

                  Best,
                  Susan

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for The Bones of the Past
                    Hello everyone!

I know it’s been a while since I posted an update beyond listing another signing (such as my next one at Chapters Gloucester on October 21 from noon to 4!). Promotional efforts and writing have been taking up the lion’s share of my time and The Tide of Madness is coming together very well, if a little slower than I had hoped. Some characters aren’t making it easy – Jenus, for instance, has decided to go off on an unexpected tangent that actually lets me draw on a little more of the world’s history, and Ruin’s storyline is turning out to be more complex than I had expected and now interconnects with more of the other characters much earlier in the book. The result is something I’m really excited about and I’m hoping you’ll agree that it was worth the wait once you get your hands on it!

The goal is to have the manuscript finished within the next 4-5 months. I have a little bit of time off set aside and I’m planning on shutting myself in for a week at some point this winter to get a full 9 days of writing done. I’ve done this before and made incredible progress, so I’m hopeful that it’ll be enough to keep me on track!

In the meantime, the next week won’t see a lot of writing. I’ll be spending all of next weekend at CAN-CON: Conference on Canadian Content in Speculative Arts... – a conference for speculative fiction writers that takes place right here in Ottawa. Last year was my first time attending and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s comparatively small for a con since it focuses on writers, but it offers great learning opportunities for writers at every stage of their careers with panels of agents, editors, publishers and some really phenomenal authors that range from fantasy - Steven Erikson (Malazan Books of the Fallen, which are my all time favorite books), to Sci-Fi - Sylvain Neuvel (Themis Files, which I particularly recommend as audiobooks), not to mention some newer names like my fellow Inkshares author J-F. Dubeau who writes both Sci-Fi (The Life Engineered, too short but awesome – Hurry up with that sequel JF!) and horror (A god in the Shed, even better than TLE).

Finally, I know I’ve asked this before, but if you’ve read The Bones of the Past, please take a moment to write a review on Goodreads, Amazon, Kobo, Indigo, B&N or wherever you bought it! Every review makes a world of difference in raising awareness of a new book/author! Also, if you are a member of a library (and if you aren’t you should be!) please ask you library to carry my book!

Thank you all, yet again, for your support!
