Friends

The Catcher’s Trap is out in the world and, hopefully, already in your hands. As you can imagine, releasing the book on Election Day, and on a week like we just had in America has been quite interesting.

Still, two days after the election, over one hundred of you came out and supported the release of my book. This past Thursday, the North Haven Barnes and Nobles was flooded with people attending my first ever book signing. It was beautiful and humbling. Fun fact, the mayor of Hamden gave me a proclamation on behalf of the town. I had no idea that was happening and it was a wonderful surprised.

If you missed me on Thursday, you can come and see me at the Hamden Public Library on Sunday, November 20th, at 2 pm. I will be speaking there as part of their guest authors series.

The next step in this thrilling journey is to get reviews. I need to get as many reviews for the Catcher’s Trap as possible in the next coming weeks. So please, once you are ready, go into the links below and leave an honest review. It doesn’t have to be long, just your thoughts about the book. Trust me your review will make a huge difference.

    J. Graham-Jones liked an update for An Unattractive Vampire

So yeah. Long time no update.

Stuff has happened. Probably a lot of stuff and I’ve been busy with grad school, but really I don’t feel like talking about any of that. Because right now sucks. A lot.

Why I’m updating everyone at this time when so many of us just want to curl up into the fetal position and do nothing is because while I don’t have a lot of money to donate to causes that may need it in the next four years or the skills to help people (I write silly stories about monsters), what I do have are six codes for the audiobook version of An Unattractive Vampire.

So here’s the deal: between now and December 15th, donate to an at-risk cause. Here’s a list from Jezebel to get you started. Once you’ve donated, tell me. Tweet at me @jimmcdoniel or leave a comment on this post telling me that you’ve donated or walk past me on the sidewalk and give me the Elder Sign. Just make sure I know and your name will be added to the list. On December 16th, I will draw six names and those lucky do-gooders will be able to experience my book as it was meant to be experienced: read to them by a British man.

So hey, let’s get out there and make this all suck slightly less.

      J. Graham-Jones sent an update for Witherfist

Hello, everyone! Hope you’re having a relaxing start to the weekend.

With 49 days to go, Witherfist has just hit the home stretch.

The book has been fortunate enough to get some extra support and preorders this week from the Epic Fantasy and Rite of Passage syndicates. Both chose Witherfist as their November pick - thank you so much to everyone who recommended and voted, both in these syndicates and in others within the Inkshares community.

With over a month to go, and just 33 additional preorders needed, I’m confident that we can do this!

        J. Graham-Jones liked A Lost Daughter of Magic
I have made the decision to remove A Lost Daughter of Magic from pre-order. I started this endeavor to enter the Geek & Sundry Fantasy Contest. The finish date for that contest has come and gone, but the campaign for this book was still on-going. Unfortunately the editing and release of chapters have slowed down to the point that I cannot confidently say that it will be competed. I will, however, start a new book in the future at, hopefully, a better time and with better promotion. Thank you all who have supported my attempt and I will see you later.

Addendum: I cannot cancel the campaign, so I will let it wither as it approaches expiration. Again, thank you for your support.
