BTW, a factoid: I changed Camille’s name from Rosa when my sister-in-law, Rosa, was born. She’s almost five now. That means she’s aunt to my almost 14 yo daughter and 9 yo son. And they could babysit her if we still lived in Scotland. Wack world, eh?

As one kind editor pointed out, Camille ends up being called Rosa for some of the last three chapters. Editing glitch! Sorry! Hope it’s all fixed now...

I’ve just uploaded three chapters which introduce the reader to the second main player, Gabriel St-Martin. It skips ahead a bit in Sidonie’s story, but thought you might all want to know where she was headed!

Sarah Bryant liked an update for Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside

Readers! Great news. Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside has been selected as a finalist in Foreword Reviews’ INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards. I’m pretty excited, as this is the first competition I’ve heard back from. A panel of over 130 librarians and booksellers will determine the winners and announce them in June, so this should give the book a little bump in exposure. It would be awesome if you could help me spread the word!

I’ll be giving a reading at the Boston Public Library on Thursday, April 7th, at 6pm. I’d love to see you there if you’re around—feel free to invite friends. Copies of the book are available at Brookline Booksmith and Harvard Book Store if you know anyone who’d be interested in checking it out beforehand.

I’m almost at 50 reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. If you’ve read the novel but yet to post a review, please consider doing so? Thanks! Really appreciate your continued support.

          Hi there,
Thanks for putting the time into this answer. Actually, my question wasn’t really about how to get the news about my book out there, I’ve got venues for that (and I’ve published seven books commercially, just not in this country, hence being on here!) I was more wondering where you posted the news about your giveaways and raffles specifically for the Inkshares community. Do you just paste it here in your comments section, or is there somewhere else where one can put the word out to members who might not yet be followers? Does that make sense?

In a post-apocalyptic future, fractured timelines are wreaking havoc on the world. Only a tough, hard-drinking enforcer named Jack Trevayne can hold things together. This is gritty, hard-boiled sci-fi with attitude. The future is complicated. Jack is not.

I was thinking of doing a giveaway, but I’m still enough confused by the working of this website to know how to publicize it. How would I get it out there for all and sundry to see? If it’s complicated, you can email me about it at scaughie5
