Leo Valiquette liked an update for WHEN FORCE MEETS FATE

Hello friends!

Earlier today you should have received an email with a link to download the ebook of WHEN FORCE MEETS FATE. For those who downloaded it already, that version of the ebook was a slightly older version and was missing a few things. We have now uploaded the latest version and you can use the same link to download it. You can also go to the Inkshares site directly, login to your account, and download it there. The difference between the two versions is relatively small, but I would encourage you to download the current version.

Many of you have also received your print copies, and I so hope you enjoy them. I put a lot into this book; it’s really incredible to see it in the hands of so many people. If you have any trouble downloading the ebook or getting your print copy, please reach out to me or Inkshares.

Thank you so much for reading my book!

    Leo Valiquette liked Kill Creek
I was excited to read KILL CREEK as published by Inkshares and the book did not disappoint. Each of the characters are fully-drawn, with complex backstories and vivid interior monologues that make you care deeply about them. My favorite was Sebastian Cole, the old-school classical horror writer, a stodgy old man who is a bit of a prude, but who has his own tragic secret. The scenes in the house had me completely on-edge: this frightening idea that the house could listen to the thoughts of characters and latch onto their psyches. KILL CREEK is "modern" horror in the sense that it’s not focused on ancient demons or hidden portals, but it certainly made me frightened in the traditional sense. I was jumpy for several days and wary of turning off the reading light before going to bed! I am looking forward to the Showtime TV adaptation of the book and to other work by Scott Thomas.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Curio Citizen

      To all my dear friends,

I have brief news regarding Curio Citizen. A few months ago, my developmental editor decided that my manuscript was ready to be sent to the CEO of Inkshares for his assessment and news on next steps. I spoke with him this week, and he is hoping to read it soon. Unfortunately, what has already been a slow process has slowed down even more due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Books that were supposed to be released in 2020 have been pushed to 2021, which means Curio Citizen will be delayed further. I hope that Inkshares and I can work together this year to make sure Curio is all set to go for a 2022 release, but I have no confirmation yet for whether that will be the case.

So, here’s the thing. As I mentioned in my last update, a different novel of mine, Lodestone, has been acquired by a separate publishing company and will be released this April 21, 2021. In addition, a second novel, The Hand-me-down Maiden, is now under contract with that same publisher and is slated for a 2022 release. I am beyond excited for these novels, but to be honest, I feel rather awkward that Lodestone will be released before Curio Citizen when you all so generously pre-ordered Curio over three years ago. There is also a distinct possibility that The Hand-me-down Maiden will also be published before Curio Citizen will be released.

I want to again assure you that Curio Citizen is still in production and will eventually be in your hands. I have been working very hard with Inkshares on and off for the past three years to ensure it will be its best self prior to release, and though the long waiting periods have been frustrating, I believe the novel will be worth it in the end.

In the next three months, I will seriously be ramping up marketing for Lodestone on all of my author social media accounts, especially since pre-orders have now opened in preparation for its April release. That being the case, I wanted to use this update to reassure you that Curio Citizen is still happening, despite the fact that it will likely be my third published novel by the time it is out in the world. I apologize for what I feel is an awkward situation, and I again want to thank you all with my utmost sincerity, truly from the bottom of my heart, for your support and patience during this process. I would not have made it this far in my career without your generosity.

If you are interested in following news regarding my other books and projects, I invite you to join my new email newsletter! I’m so excited to share my author-ly pursuits with you, and I promise I won’t flood your inbox! Sign up here!

Thank you again, everyone. I will update about Curio Citizen here as soon as I have more news. In the meantime, I wish you all the best health and happiness!

      Sincerely,

      Katherine

          Hello Everyone,

                Hello Henderson House supporters!

I am currently working on revising Chapter One. As you all know, the first two to three pages are critical for pulling a reader into my story and painting a picture of my main character’s status quo.

I’ve been getting great feedback from my beta readers and I thought you all might enjoy reading 2 versions of Chapter One and then getting a Discussion started on my Inkshares page about which opening  you like better and why, plus any other ideas you might have for the first few pages of the book.

Thanks for playing along! This is the fun part - working to go from good to great.

                Best,

                Caren

Hello to all of my supporters,
I have just opened my computer up to see that there is a new feature on Inkshares!!!!
It is called nominate, and you can click on the button to nominate why you think Inkshares should publish my book.
For those, who have pre-ordered my book, I am so very grateful that you are supporting my lifelong book, and that everyday, I am one step closer to my finish line.
Of course, I still have a bit to go, and as I have mentioned before, the 2020 All-Genre Contest is still on until February 27th, and I am currently back in 4th place after a couple of weeks in 3rd. This contest is not only about ordering, it’s about ordering, writing reviews, and discussing it on here, nominating, and sharing on Twitter and Facebook.
So please, pre-ordered or not, click right next to my about page, where you will find the first seven chapters of Clara and Damien’s life.
After that, skip this discussion page, and go to reviews and review my book, as it does count for the contest.
I’ll be back at the end of January to update everybody on my progress.
And as always, please keep spreading this news around by mouth, and Twitter and Facebook are very effective (:
                  Stay safe, healthy, and happy,
                  Nirmani
