Erica.Curran liked an update for APEX

My sincerest thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered a copy of APEX and recommended to your friends to pre-order as well. I’m now within 6, yes SIX, pre-orders of 3rd place. Of course, the competition isn’t standing still, but with my new fantastic video trailer on YouTube and Inkshares found here:

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNj-LN9ss0s

created by the amazing Christopher Lee, author of The Lore of Aos Si (Check out his novel on Inkshares.com), I have a chance to push ahead.

Thank you so much for all of your continued support. Please help me make this last push to forge ahead in the contest so I can get my book published and into your hands!

Cheers, Debbie

I was hoping to have a little short story from an adventure that is not in the book written up, but I’ve been battling some serious fatigue this week. Hopefully sometime this weekend I can get to that!

On another note, The Living God still has 77 days left to campaign and part of me really wants to shoot for that 750 goal. The other part of me realizes how impossible that seems. If The Living God could reach 750 pre-orders it would go on to mass publishing and be sold in bookstores around the world. But, I’m a practical woman. It has taken a lot of effort to get this close to the 250 goal and I’ve pretty much tapped out my willing network. Even if the book did not reach 750, it would still go into light publication. When I started this I had no intention of attempting the 750. To be honest, I was doubtful that I could reach the 250. I’m an introvert and I’ve always harbored huge anxiety over money and asking people for it. I entered Inkshares for the contest. But, I knew the likelihood of winning so I also aimed for that 250 mark. Light publishing was always my main objective at heart. I welcome any feedback or advice for those who have shot for that 750 mark, even if you missed.

Erica.Curran liked an update for The Bones of the Past

      Good evening everyone!

I have lots of news to share!

The copy editor finished working through my manuscript a week early, so I’m once again in full editing mode looking over proposed fixes and changes... Probably for the next two weeks. This round is looking at smaller stuff, so it’s more about improving word flow and fixing any remaining grammar mistakes, but also includes catching content that’s out of place or inconsistent. I can already say I’m very happy with the editor’s work and the manuscript is steadily improving even further!

In other news... The designer has come back with the final round of covers! We only have two to choose from this time. He’s incorporated the feedback I gave him and I think the end results are even stronger than before.

The first one is very close to the #3 from last round. The only change is that the ’dust’ effect has been cleaned up a little under the ’P’.

The second one is very close to the #6 from last round but uses the typography from #3.

Let me know what you think by replying to this update on Inkshares, via DM, on Twitter @bonesofthepast or by email at thebonesofthepast@gmail.com !

Thank you all yet again for your continued patience and support!

Erica.Curran liked an update for The Lore of the Aos Sí

The Skyfolk of Empyrea were believed to be one of the exiled tribes of Adam. They came to the realm of Tír na nÓg during the month of the Willow in the year, 3097 B.C.E. Very little is known about where the Empyrean Exiles came from, but there are rumors that they hail from the Realm of Tír nam Beo, the Land of the Living.

The Skyfolk descended from the heavens in great flaming ships. Their zealotry is known throughout the realm, although little is known about their way of life within the walls of their city erected in the neck of the Great Expanse. For ninety-five years the Empyrean people have lived in isolation. They bore strange markings across all of their body, tattoos that some in the realm of Tír na nÓg believe to be the words of Adam’s followers in the First Age. Over the past twenty years, there have been a number of reports of deserters who have abandoned the Articles of Conviction in defiance of the Ensí Ubara Tutu and his iron rule.

Erica.Curran liked an update for Witherfist

Witherfist is now in the Geek & Sundry contest top 10. This is a huge milestone, as it’s the first time since the beginning of the contest back in August that the book has broken into the top 10.  In a contest with over 380 entrants, it’s a real honour to be up there and in the company of so many other brilliant authors and their books.

How did this happen? Over this past weekend, Inkshares syndicates - groups of like-minded readers who band together to support books - began choosing their monthly picks. Witherfist was fortunate enough to be nominated and chosen by the members of the ’Break the Bechdel’ syndicate, whose support added a whopping 32 new preorders to the preorder total. A massive thank you goes to Tahani Nelson, author of The Last Faoii, for putting Witherfist forward and for all of the syndicate members who voted to make this possible.

What does that mean?  If you visit the contest page, you’ll  now see the Witherfist cover listed along with the rest of the top 10 entries. This will give the book extra visibility to contest visitors and, should it be fortunate enough to stay in the top 10, this ranking will remain frozen in place once the contest ends on November 1st.

Does this mean Witherfist will be published?  It certainly helps towards that goal! We are now 50% of the way to the 250 copies needed for publication and being in the top 10 puts Witherfist one step closer to the top 3 (who are all guaranteed a full publishing deal). Although the Geek & Sundry contest ends at the beginning of next month, Witherfist has until December 31st to reach the big 250.

          We’re now halfway there.

          We can do this.

          ~ Jenny
