Hello, Traveller’s Cup Supporters!

I’ve got a lot of exciting updates to share with you. 

First, we’re still in the top 10! Barely hanging in, but we’re there. I want to be completely transparent with you. If you haven’t checked out the actual contest standings, we have 37 pre-orders. That’s it. This contest is spread-out and close. To give you a comparison, the current second-place holder is sitting at 72. This is an extremely tight race, and every single pre-order counts. If you’ve held back thinking it won’t make a difference, I assure you it will. 

Second piece of news: the latest chapter preview. If you didn’t notice it in your inbox yesterday, we continued to follow Damaus after his name was called for the Cup. I decided to keep going sequentially for this one because there’s a lot of detail and worldbuilding that I think is important to the later story. If you did or didn’t like the piece, please let me know on Twitter at @ac_baldwin. You guys are my backers, which means we’re partners in this. Your feedback is important to me. 

Third piece of news: This Friday, February 19, from 8:30am to 10:30am EST (UTC-5), I’ll be taking questions about my book and writing on Twitter using the hashtag #TheTravellersCup. Everyone who asks a question will be entered into a draw to name a space dragon!

I’ve got a lot of ideas bubbling up in my head to get more people engaged in this book, like sketching out characters and places, and maybe another contest or two, but I want to hear from you guys. What great ideas do you have to get the word out? Or if you’re someone who hasn’t ordered, what can I do to convince you The Traveller’s Cup is worth your pre-order?

Good day everyone! 

Mondays are hard. There aren’t enough hours in a weekend to both accomplish everything we want to and get any proper relaxation in.   

I’ve been keeping myself busy everyday, making sure that I have new content for you all. By tomorrow you’ll be receiving another sample chapter for The Traveller’s Cup. I think I know which piece I want to show you, but I’m going to take another evening to consider it carefully and make sure that it’s well-edited. 

As for updates on the campaign, we’re still managing to stay afloat in the top ten, but it’s the top three that we need. And for that we’ve got to double our pre-orders fast.

Some of you may have followed the book assuming that counts toward pre-orders. Unfortunately, while your support still counts to me, only deliberate pre-orders count for the publishing deal and contest. If you aren’t sure, head back to the book’s page and check out the green button under the book thumbnail that says "Pre-Order." 

And as always, if you have placed an order, please continue sharing with your friends and communities so we can make sure this bit of space fantasy comes to life. 

Note that if the project is not funded for whatever reason, you will receive your pre-order money back. Inkshares and Nerdist just want to see that people are serious about buying before they take on the publishing part.

Greetings, everyone!

I hope you’re enjoying a lazy Sunday, or getting the most out of this love-holiday, to close off a great week. My week has been a roller-coaster ride full of marketing and networking, trying to make sure that The Traveller’s Cup continues on its path toward publication. 

First, there’s a new blurb up on the page. I ran this by a group of my writing friends and they agree it packs a better punch, so I hope you enjoy it too. And also that it spurs you to send the link to all your friends. 

Second, you guys are amazing. Thanks to you we’ve managed to stay fairly consistently in the top 10. Maintaining this means more exposure for the book, and inspires me to make sure it’s a story worthy of your pledges. For proof of the exposure, check out the article Nerdist did about the campaign, where you can get some details on the inspiration that went into The Traveller’s Cup. 

Lastly, despite all of this great news, we have a long way to go still. If we all share with our friends and communities enough to get one more order each, we could reach first place. Please help me make this happen.

The numbers for this book are slowly going up, but so are everyone else’s. Currently we have been bumped from the top 10 by a few orders. If the pre-orders double today we would skyrocket to 2nd place. Nerdist winners include anyone in the top 3.  

A note that the digital (e-book) version is $10 with no shipping fee, and comes in any format you’d like. This can be read on a portable reader, mobile device, or even your home PC.
