Leo Valiquette sent an update for The Crucible Tree

Howdy!

Well, Inkshares’ All Genre Manuscript Contest ended last night and The Crucible Tree did not place among the top three to be considered a winner. It did, however, finish in the top 10, and that is something, considering there were 374 entrants.

My sincerest thank you for all your support. The focus now is on Bane of All Things and its release later this year (publication date pending). If Bane of All Things’ sales are strong enough, Inkshares will still greenlight The Crucible Treefor publication – these are the first two books in a series, after all.

If you are someone who has not previously followed or pre-ordered Bane of All Things, I encourage you to check it out at the link below. Click that Follow button to be on Bane of All Things’s email list to receive updates on the release date, the cover reveal (the current one is just an Adobe Stock placeholder), and other exciting news and promotions as release day draws near.

Thank you again.

Stay safe and keep reading!

Cheers

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Tears of Venus

Hello again readers. Sorry for messaging you all twice in one day! Earlier today a fellow writer let me know that Inkshares is still evaluating all the manuscripts and may select more winners. So there’s still a chance we could be selected for publication! Tears of Venus will remain on Inkshares and in the meantime I will begin working on adding some new scenes to the story based on feedback I received from some of you.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Infodemic
WE DID IT!!! Thanks to your support, Infodemic came in second in the 2020 Inkshares All Genre Contest! We finished number 2 out of 383 entrants, which means that the novel will be published.

I am very grateful to all of you for the support and enthusiasm. Like the editors who contribute to the fictional Infopendium, this was definitely a team effort :) So thank you!

WHEN WILL YOU GET YOUR BOOK?
Inkshares estimates that the publishing process takes at least nine months. A few books have been delayed due to COVID-19. I will keep you posted.

In the meantime, I will be working with a team of professionals on the manuscript itself as well as the marketing to give Infodemic the best launch possible. Also, Inkshares is known for securing audiobook/film/TV deals for its properties, and I’m certainly excited about that possibility.

HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO HELP?
Infodemic can continue to take Pre-Orders, which will help with hitting bestseller and other industry benchmarks. Tell your friends to reserve their copy on the Inkshares page.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Tears of Venus

Hello Readers. Unfortunately, Tears of Venus finished the contest in 5th place and only the top 3 books were selected for publication. It is still a great accomplishment considering there were 382 submissions! I really appreciate all of your support. Anyone who preordered will get their money back in the next two week (I will confirm timing on this with Inkshares). The journey to publication isn’t over, though! I am going to pull Tears of Venus from Inkshares and work on getting a literary agent. Follow me in Instagram at @nicole_sampson_writer for updates.

        Thanks again for your support!

Exciting News!! WE DID IT!! WILD CONVICTION held 3rd place and will be published by Inkshares! I woke up about 1 am my time and checked. I can’t go back to sleep!

THANK YOU to each of you for showing so much wonderful support for my novel. THANK YOU for supporting my dream--my wild conviction--to be a published novelist! I can’t wait until you have the entire novel to read!

When I was fortunate enough to meet Nichelle Nichols several years ago, she autographed a photograph of her on the USS Enterprise bridge for me by writing: Blessings to you always and in all ways. I love that and am writing that to you. My friends, family, readers of WILD CONVICTION--Blessings to you always and in all ways!  Again, THANK YOU!!  Mary (and Twilight)

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Henderson House

WE DID IT!!!!! Thanks to your support, Henderson House won the 2020 Inkshares All Genre Contest! We were number 1 out of 383 entrants. I’m so grateful to each and every one of you and pretty darn excited, too. Now the work of editing, designing, marketing, and launching a book begins.

WHEN WILL YOU GET YOUR BOOK?  Inkshares estimates that the publishing process takes nine months to a year. With Covid-19, they suspended new releases in the latter part of 2020. I don’t know if that means they are gearing up for more releases than usual in 2021 and early 2022, or if my book launch might be delayed. I will keep you posted.

The GOOD news is that I will have a team of professionals managing that process for me and helping Henderson House get the best launch possible! It also gives me time to start working on the sequel :) Who’s ready to see Frank and Bessie get married, Florence head to Tulsa and Mrs. H. move to Princeton?

HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO HELP? Gee, thanks for asking:) Henderson House can continue to take Pre-Orders. Pre-Orders are ESSENTIAL to hitting BEST SELLER benchmarks. So please, keep sharing the link to my Inkshares book page and encouraging folks to reserve a copy.

Also, Inkshares is known for securing audiobook/film/TV deals for its properties. I need to provide Inkshares with COMPS - what books or movies do you think are comparable to Henderson House? Please let me know. I could really use your input.

WANT TO FOLLOW THE JOURNEY? I will send major milestone updates through Inkshares. If you are interested in following all the ups and downs of this publishing adventure, please visit my website and subscribe to my blog. https://www.carenmcvicker.com/

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my dream of becoming a published author come true ❤️

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Black Forest

Hello, my beloved supporters of BLACK FOREST!  I’ll have some news coming soon (I know most of you are curious about when it will be available) ... but for the moment I need your help to get my SECOND novel off the ground!  This one is called WITCHBOY, and I’ve entered it into a contest held by Inkshares.  Doesn’t require pre-orders ... just "Follows" and "Nominations"!  The contest ends tomorrow, and so far I have 116 followers, which is good, but could be better!

Here’s the link to find WITCHBOY -- I very, VERY much appreciate all your help! (And stay tuned for more news regarding BLACK FOREST ...!)

Hi Friend!! Eeeeee! I’m so excited to send this update!

My editor and the publisher loved the updates I made to the contemporary parts of On Homeand so they took it to a meeting with sales reps from the distributor. These are the people who sell the books to bookstores.

The sales reps also loved the contemporary story but had some issues with the historical parts (basically I worked too hard on these, and made them too detailed and heavy handed.) So, I’m working on toning those down a bit, which I’ll be done with by the end of March. My editor is looking over these changes as I go. Then, April 1, the book will go to copy edit!!!! In the meantime, a creative brief is going to the designer so that we can get a professional cover. The tentative release date is August 24, 2021!

Of course, this could always get pushed back depending on different factors. A good number of my friends who have published their books have had to push their dates back. BUT getting a date is a pretty huge deal! It means we have about six months to wrap up the edits, market the heck out of it, get advanced reviews, and hopefully plan a fun launch party. Y’all better wear your masks and get your vaccinations because I want you there with me! :)

I am SOOOOO grateful and excited! You’ll be reading the book we’ve been waiting so long for soon! Thank you all so much for following along on this journey. If you’ve enjoyed it, consider….doing it all again, haha. My second novel, The Book of Great and Tiny Things, is in a contest for publication that ends today. Nominating it, especially, helps its ranking.

                    Love, love, love,Becca
