Janna Grace liked an update for Shadow Incandescent

Thanks so much to you early followers. I really appreciate your support.

Hopefully you've had the opportunity to read through the first two chapters posted here. As Shadow Incandescent attracts more readers and pre-orders, I will release more chapters for you to read. Since this book served as my MFA Thesis, it's already completed and waiting to be shared.

Since I earned my MFA two years ago, I have been editing and revising (and editing and revising) Shadow, as well as working on a sequel. I'm 11,000 words into that project already, picking up where Shadow leaves off, though it's told from the point of view of a different character (whom I can't reveal yet, because it would spoil Shadow).

I'm excited for you to continue following Thom as he navigates the politics of qualifying for an Admin position, keeping his friendship with trouble-maker Geoff, meeting Minister Trask's expectations, and wooing Dee. Near the middle of the book, Thom, Geoff, and Scott make a paradigm-shifting discovery and the stakes quickly become life and death.

If you haven't yet, please share this page with your friends and followers on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc... As I used to tell my high school students, it takes all kinds to make a world, and I believe there are more than 1000 people that would enjoy reading this book. Unfortunately, I don't know all of them. But, you just might!!

Janna Grace liked an update for Tale of Boulderoth

    Greetings my Boulderoleros!

The weather in New York today is perfect for a winter in Boulderoth: cool, rainy, and kinda gross.  Thanks, god of storms.  This week I've been tweaking maps and patching up a few things with the history of the Empire.

Watching a half dozen documentaries about ancient Athens and Mycenaean shenanigans, as well as a few about Edo period Tokyo helped me develop a more fleshed out city on the barren rocks that were the Grey Crag.  Think Manhattan, but with Greco-Roman archiecture and the tight quarters of Tokyo.  Also, quick change, the Grey Crag is now no longer the refuge of a fleeing elven prince trying to hide a sacred text.  It is now the secret stronghold of a ruthless elven warlord prince who sets up a military outpost on this small cluster of islands and develops a "magical weapon", which he then uses to destroy the islands and most of the people living in the city that has developed around the outpost.  But there is still a book.  Elves love books.  The people who survive the category 11 hurricane and the volcano that rises up from the sea floor and boils most of the people before launching them into space and junk...they wash up on the beaches of Tarkinos and the southern coast.

From there it's all zombies, kingdom, war, peace, war, empire, civil war, civil war, civil war, barbarian conquest, military revolution, civil war, political upheavals, creedence clearwater revival, and The Blackening bringing us to the home stretch with the Sacred Band (Paladins) and the fall of the Eastern Empire just like always.  Also, I'm toying with the idea of the "elves" being called the "immortals".  They're not really elf-elves, they just have pointy ears and live forever...pretty much.  They're way more like samurai.  I'll get on that.

    Earth, sea, empire.  =)

Janna Grace liked an update for The Second Coming Of Hell
All, thank you for the support. Things have been progressing and I feel anxious and excited now that I've put my work up for pre-order. I'm hoping it does well enough to go into publication. Take a look and read it for yourself and enjoy.

Janna Grace liked an update for Asteroid Made of Dragons

And then there comes the day. The day when the sun shines and you see something beautiful.

Here it is. The official front cover of Asteroid Made of Dragons. The entire team at Inkshares and Girl Friday Production and our designer David Drummond really knocked it out of the park. Tom and Veronica from Sword & Laser were also instrumental in guiding the style of this and I can't thank them enough. If it weren't for all these skilled, talented, kind people - the cover would have probably come out looking something more like this:

        How do I feel?

Proud and terrified. This cover is marketable and slick and makes me feel very, very grown up. Also it kind of looks like a Beholder.

I wanted you guys to be the first to see - as you're the ones that made it happen. I'll do an 'official' reveal on my site in the next day or so, but for now GAZE DEEPLY INTO THE ABYSS.

Janna Grace liked an update for Dianno's Wolves

Thanks for the support for Dianno's Wolves. While the funding goal looks very unlikely to be met this time, with only 14 days to go, I will be allocating more time to this project in future and it will be back, with a standalone website, more sample chapters and a much greater promotional effort! Thanks again for your support!
          Regards,
          James
