Hey Thomas! The Quill publishing option does actually include signed copies of the book, just not a trip to the Inkshares offices. They will send you the books to sign along with a return label to send them back. :)

Tony Valdez liked an update for Exile, Magus

I'm a couple of days late with the update, so its just going to be folded into my Saturday post announcement.  We haven't reached the next preorder or follower threshold, so today's post will be of book 2 again(Exile, Hunted).  This one will be section 2 of chapter 1.

I had been considering restarting my Exile, Magus campaign to take part in this current Sword & Laser contest, but ultimately decided that would be unfair to those of you who have been supporting my efforts since the beginning of this campaign.  That does leave us with only 41 days to get at least 188 preorders.  Certainly a difficult task, but not an impossible one.  It will require everyone's help though, so don't stop recommending the book to anyone you think would be interested and for those of you who are still considering whether or not to preorder I certainly hope you'll make the decision to place the order.

Its been a while since I mentioned it, so I thought it would bear repeating.  While the Quill publishing option at 250 preorders doesn't include signed copies of the book for everyone that orders, if we do reach that goal I will be randomly choosing 25 readers with whom I'll work to sign their copies of the book.  Super-readers will not be included in the random drawing, because I will work with them in addition to those 25 chosen.

Finally, the Review-a-thon is just a week away, so don't forget that.  I'll be posting a reminder on that next week either Thursday or Friday as well.

My brain is feeling a bit addled from being up way too early for someone who is back to a 2nd shift schedule, but I think I've covered everything I intended to this week.  Again, thanks for all of your support.  Keep reading and enjoy!

Tony Valdez liked an update for The Battle for Oz
      Fellow comrades in arms,

We've won the battle for Oz. It wasn't easy, but we did it. The witches are back in their death trap mountains, the New Queen is God-knows-where (?), and Dorothy and Alice have safely returned home (for now).

But there's a new war to fight - one in the kingdom of Alpenwhist. It is not of this world, and cannot be accessed by riding on a tornado or sliding down a rabbit hole. The only way to enter is through the pages of the book itself.

So, to give you a glimpse of Alpenwhist, I've uploaded the first chapter of the book. You can read it here: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-slave-prince/book_segments/chapter-1-7371

If you think it's a war worth fighting, claim a royal title and be a part of this fight for freedom. I definitely need an army to win this one, and I could really use your help!

*Have store credits but no idea what to do with them? Claim a Duke & Duchess title. Prefer to be heirs to the throne? Why not crown yourself Prince & Princess? It's not everyday you can be a royal :)

Tony Valdez liked an update for An Unattractive Vampire

Good morning all (he says at midnight, assuming you'll be reading this when you wake)

Lots of news and good things to go over. First and foremost, the Sword and Laser, the reason yours truly is still talking to you about this dandy little fiction he's concocted (I've spent a good portion of today writing. Does it show?) has returned with another book contest! More authors are being given the same opportunity to get their book published and distributed just as I have. Books like:

The Darkest Places by Byron Gillan
The discovery of an ancient artifact, buried deep below Cairo, brings three individuals together in a race against an ever-ticking clock to stop an ancient and eldritch evil.

You had me at eldritch Byron. Go here to check it out this tale of 1920s adventurous Lovecraftian horror:
        https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-darkest-places?recommended=true

I also would like to recommend a book that is not actually in the Sword and Laser contest, but looks immensely fun.

        Dax Harrison by Tony Valdez
In a space-faring future, an alien war criminal seeks vengeance on humanity, and a celebrated-but-bumbling hero is forced back into action... whether he likes it or not.

It looks like a great, golden-age style space adventure with plenty of humor to go around. You can read excerpts here. Just remember to do so soon, it only has 15 days to meet its Quill publishing goal:
        https://www.inkshares.com/projects/dax-harrison-2276

There will be more recommendations to come I promise.

Meanwhile, because of the new contest, people have been asking me and the winners of last Sword and Laser contest J.F. Dubeau and G. Derek Adams lots of fun questions about our books and our experience with Inkshares. First, Alicia Smock from the Examiner wrote this wonderful article highlighting each of us:

        http://www.examiner.com/article/inkshares-and-sword-laser-team-up-for-new-publishing-contest

And the Inkshares team asked us to contribute our insights for their blog on the new contest here:

        http://blog.inkshares.com/post/134876312095/insights-from-the-winners-of-the-first-sword

AND I know many of you have been asking when your books will be arriving. Well, the release date is March 15. But if you'd like to see what they look like ahead of time, you can see an advanced galley being unboxed by Tom Merritt of the Sword and Laser by following this link here:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0RmQf9h5oM&feature=youtu.be&a

Anyway, that's all for now. I hope to have more good news to tell you soon. Until then, dear readers...

Tony Valdez liked an update for The Amaranth Chronicles

Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for taking a look at The Amaranth Chronicles! We just moved into 5th place in the Sword and Laser Collection contest. I'm blown away at the traction we've received just in the first (less than) week our campaign has been live. Stay tuned for more updates shortly and thank you all so much!
