PW Jordan created a forum thread: Seeking to push through...
Hi all, following years of scratching on paper, typing on typewriters and laptops at all hours of day and night I have decided that my all consuming hobby should be taken more seriously and perhaps I should listen to the compulsion that I have to write.
I have tried all genres but am increasingly pulled back to crime and thriller fiction.

The Red Hand is one of a series of books following the troubles of Inspector of Police Matthew March, a disgraced and disabled Boer War Veteran as he returns to the alleys and ruins of his youth. An outcast from the Military warily welcomed into an overstretched  Constabulary.
The early 1900s was a time of upheaval in Ireland, one that has not been written of so much but I felt was a rich tapestry of riches and squalor, desperation and aspiration. Hope and Fear.
A time when the world was building towards War, when Ireland was rising to fight an Empire and technology and industry was raising legendary icons such as the TITANIC in rainswept shipyards.
I hope you take time to take a look at the sample chapters and leave a positive comment.

Hello, thanks for taking time to drop by and have a peek. I’ve been working on this for a while and have only recently discovered "inkshares" from an email contact at the Crime Writers Association. The inspiration is complex  but if I could grasp the essence it is that as I see the day to day headlines and watch the news I find that my troubled country has not changed quite so much in the last 100 years.

PW Jordan liked an update for Jihadi Bride

    Hi everybody,

My apologies on what was probably a surprise today when those who’ve pre-ordered JIHADI BRIDE had their contributions returned. If I can make a long story short, when JIHADI BRIDE entered the Inkshares Mystery and Thriller contest almost three weeks ago, I believed that was the best avenue toward publication. Despite a strong start in the contest, over the past week I’ve since become convinced that this is not the right time or method to seek publication and so I decided to drop out of the contest and remove JIHADI BRIDE from funding status so that all backers would receive a refund.

I am extremely grateful and humbled for all the support during the campaign, and I would like to apologize for having wasted your time. One thing I’ve learned so far as an author is how precious everyone’s time is and consequently, how big an ask it is to support a crowdfunding campaign, or read a book, especially when there are so many other things you could spend your time on. For that reason, I hope you’ll give me the benefit of the doubt when I say that ceasing the campaign was not a decision I took lightly. That said, I’m also extremely confident that this is not the end of JIHADI BRIDE’s journey toward publication, and I hope you’ll allow me to pass on further developments when they happen. Conversely, I’ll also pass on updates through my Facebook page, www.facebook.com/AlastairLuft.

Again, thank you for all your support and all the best,

    Alastair
