Craig A. Munro liked an update for APEX

Dear Readers,

Sorry it’s been awhile since my last update! To be honest, I haven’t been able to write for the past week.  Up until that point, however, I was able to rework about 22,000 words, I interviewed eleven kind volunteers about their reading habits and engagement with social media, and I got my web designer (Mary Ann Aschenbrenner of WaterlinkWeb.com) started on my author page. So, progress is being made!

I expect my website, Instagram, Twitter, blog, and Facebook pages will all launch in a couple to three weeks. I also intend to compile my research on how to build an effective social media presence into an interesting and informative article so that other authors can use it to increase exposure for their creative work. Many, many thanks to my volunteers! I gathered so many valuable insights into effective marketing from you, both what works and what doesn’t. I’m now motivated to implement my ideas and see how it goes.

This week, I’m traveling for work, but my evenings are free, so I hope to get back into writing and prepare some content for my social media presence, write my research article, and finish up APEX. Next month is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for those unfamiliar), and I’d like to use it for launching a new piece of writing, but if I need to use it to finish up APEX, so be it. It’s all good.

Cheers and stay tuned! Big things are underway!

    HEY READERS!

One thing I forgot to mention earlier: Regarding signatures.

Yes, backers who pre-ordered and helped fund Dax Harrison were originally promised a book signed by yours truly. Unfortunately, that part of the deal was canceled on the publisher side sometime last year. As I understand, it’s pretty costly to ship a ton of books out, let alone shipping them twice. So sending them to me first for signatures just wasn’t feasible.

That said, if you reside anywhere near my stomping grounds (in southern California), I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to sign your book! Shoot me a message and we’ll make it happen. Also, stay tuned, as I’ll be working on some local book signing events and eventually setting up shop at a convention or two.

One more tiny last thing (Last thing, I promise!)

If you would like to keep up with my future projects, Dax-related or not, feel free to subscribe to my blog at TonyVWrites.com. It is by no means a professional author blog. I may talk books. I may ramble about whatever show I’m binge-watching on Netflix.

(Don’t worry, I will continue sharing all Dax updates here at Inkshares as well!)

Craig A. Munro liked an update for The Talkers are Talking

      Hello everyone!!

I apologize for the disappearing act- I was waiting to be able to announce two pieces of good news! Still waiting on one, but in the meantime I am so happy to announce that The Talkers are Talking received an Honorable Mention in the Launch Pad Competition! I had submitted the first 50 pages of my original  (very rough) draft for the feedback option of the contest- I have heard so many opposing ideas about that chunk that I wanted to see what the professionals would say as I come to final edits....and somehow that rough first draft made its way to the final list!  So- will be in touch if anything comes of it. In the meantime, you can check it out and all of the other amazing projects here:

As for the project itself - we are getting there I promise! Waiting on a few more developmental edits and then I will be moving to what I hope to be the final draft! I apologize for how long it’s taking, but I really do want to make sure the final version is the best it can be. Thank you as always for your support and keep an eye out for some more exciting news in the next few weeks!

Thanks so much and Happy Halloween!

So a few of you got your books this week...

It’s pretty surreal to see it out there. In hands. On family bookshelves. Being used as infant chew toys. Even on a store shelf in London! (I’m 99.9% positive that was my friend just sneaking it on there. Still cool though.)

For anyone who ordered and has NOT received a physical copy of the book yet, please keep an eye on your emails. You should have received a shipping confirmation from Inkshares with a tracking number. If you haven’t received your order, or if you have only received part of your order (for those who bought multiple copies), I would recommend getting in touch with the team at orders@inkshares.com. They are friendly and quick to reply!

The digital copies are now also available to download! You should have seen an email come in this week titled "The Dax Harrison ebook is ready!" If not, you can always download your copy from your digital bookshelf at Inkshares.com. (Click your profile picture at the top right of the screen and select Bookshelf from the menu)

        That’s all for now! :)

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Women Like Us

          Hi!

Been a while since I’ve been in touch. The good news is The Little Book That Could will soon cross into the thousands of books sold territory, and the production of the audiobook version is soon to be completed. So if you’ve been waiting to listen to the novel unfold, you’re going to get your chance.

One more thing I could still use a little help with, though -- Reviews!!

First, many thanks to all who have left reviews. Reviews are an author’s best friend. Really! But you may not be aware of this, but there are algorithms on Amazon that boost book sales. The first kicks in at 50 reviews. A better one revs up at 100. Women Like Us sits at 48, so we just need 2 more for that first. If you read the book and haven’t reviewed, please, please please!!!!  I just need two of you (although the more the merrier).

It’s super-simple: just click on the link below. Scroll down to where it says, "Leave a Customer Review"  Give it as many stars as you want, and say just a word or two -- "Love the book!" (or even "Hate the book works". It’s the number of reviews that’s key. Although let’s be honest, we like positive reviews better).

Here’s that Amazon link (side note: I am notoriously lame about getting links to work here so if it doesn’t open, just go to Amazon and search for Women Like Us).

          https://www.amazon.com/Women-Like-Us-Jason-Pomerance-ebook/dp/B01IOZUBEW/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1507828503&sr=1-1&keywords=women+like+us

          So that’s it for now.

As always, many thanks to all supporters.  Stay tuned also for news about a new book!

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Lucky

Good evening, my wonderful and faithful Readers,

As many of you have noticed, you’ve started receiving emails saying that your payments for Lucky are being refunded. Please, do not panic! This is all part of a plan, I promise.

Recently, it has become apparent to me that Lucky’s best chance for success is along a self-publishing path. She is already scheduled to go to a copy-editor in December and to be formatted and released early in 2018. I will of course keep you all informed as we progress.

Now is when I need your support and patience more than ever. I still believe wholeheartedly in Lucky and I want you to believe as well. Please stay in touch and let me know your thoughts as we go through the next few months. I am all over social media (can’t miss me!) as well as have a new email set up specifically for handling Lucky-related everything. So please, reach out! I want to hear from you!

Thank you all for everything! You have not only helped this novel grow, but you have helped me believe in myself as an author. I look forward to continued adventures in the (not too distant) future!

Craig A. Munro liked an update for Tantalus Depths

It almost snuck past me entirely, but today marks the one year anniversary of hitting my full funding goal for Tantalus Depths! Things have moved a lot more slowly since then than I’d thought they would, but this remains one of the proudest achievements in my life, and I am still so far beyond grateful for the huge outpouring of help from all my friends and family that made this thing possible.

No particular news on the editing process to speak of at the moment; I am continuing to work on integrating the feedback from my editor into the development draft and hope to have a new and improved draft for the next step of the process in the next week or two. I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on this landmark that got us to where we are today. I can’t wait until this editing stage is complete and you all have physical copies of the book in your hands. It’s been such a privilege being given this rare opportunity to share the passion of my heart with so many supportive people. Here’s to Tantalus Depths, Proteus, and many more such successes in the future!

                IMPORTANT UPDATE! PLEASE READ!

First off, I really want to thank all of you for your support. I am so excited about the way the book turned out and I hope you are, too. KARID update: After some soul searching, I have decided not to publish with Inkshares again for the time being. I don’t see crowdfunding as something I want to do with the next four years of my life, and if I give up the rights to my series that is what will end up happening. This is not to say I won’t consider Inkshares in the future, but for now, it is not a good fit. Thank you for understanding and thank you to all those who preordered KARID right away.

REVIEWS: Please rate the book on Amazon and Goodreads-it takes you two seconds and it helps me tremendously.

PURCHASE ORDERS: Unfortunately my book is one of the few Inkshares titles that hasn’t received a big purchase order out of the gate. Here’s how you can help: 1. Rate the book on Amazon and Goodreads. 2. Go to your local bookstore and tell them they should order some copies. 3. Go to your local Barnes and Noble and request they carry the book. I really do need your help on this-SIF is the type of book that will spread word of mouth!

AUDIO BOOK DEAL: I can finally announce that SIF will be an audio book! We have penned a deal with Audible and it should be out sometime in November.

That’s it for now! Thank you for the love and support!
