JOSEPH ASPHAHANI!

Mr Asphahani is the author of "The Animal in Man", and is currently leading the race in the Sword & Laser contest Mk II! Well done good sir!  To all the other contestants, there's still time to catch up, so keep-up the shameless advertising and self-promotion!

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the festive season. I for one, have been pigging out like it's the eve of a Zombie apocalypse.  Hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas, and if you didn't... just suck it up, or go out and get it yourself (for the Aussies, Boxing Day sales are in effect, so a very good excuse to get off your hinies and work off all the extra kilojoules!)

As always, stay safe during the holidays (Aussies, don't forget about double demerits) and make sure you charge the batteries for the new year!

Live long and prosper! \V/,
Vincent

Ok, so technical difficulties with that last update, so let me try one more time. I was going to try to post a short video including Derric of the Beagle Freedom Project because my plan is to donate 10% of all book sales to this group. But it's going to take a while to get Derric's acting skills in shape. He was more interested in nibbling on my arm.  Anyway, if you're interested in helping these beagles and other animals live better lives, head to beaglefreedomproject.org. You can click on "Rescues" and then scroll down to the "Midwest 10" to see Derric's first steps of freedom. Warning: these videos can make you want to sob. But here's a brief look at our attempt at video making, and I will try to get a better one soon:

So I hope everybody had spectacular holidays.  And if you're following, but haven't preordered "Women Like Us", why not do it today!.  Oh, I'm also going to work on getting some Beagle Freedom swag to use as giveaways so stay tuned.  Thanks all.

Hello, happy Day-after-Xmas!! For all those who celebrate, I hope you got what you wished for, and for those who don't, I hope you got what you wished for too!! Meanwhile, did you know there's a sale of books going on at Inkshares?  You know that right?  Well, anyway, at the suggestion of Dax Harrison's creator (and by the way if you're looking for awesome interplanetary adventure, pre-order Tony Valdez's "Dax Harrison" right after you pre-order "Women Like Us" -- here's the link, https://www.inkshares.com/projects/dax-harrison-2276) but at his suggestion I was planning on including a small video promotion in this update featuring the beagle Derric of the Beagle Freedom Project, because as you might know, I plan to donate 10% of all my book sales to the Beagle Freedom Project if the publishing goal is met. However, as you can see Derric wasn't quite cooperating. He was more interested in nibbling on my arm. Here, take a look:

I will try and do better next time, but I guess it will be up to Derric.  Maybe some acting lessons are in order.  In the meantime I'm going to work on getting some Beagle Freedom swag to use as free giveaways for folks who pre-order, so I'll be updating on that soon. By the way, if you want to learn more about the Beagle Freedom Project, hit up Beaglefreedomproject.org. If you click on rescues and the scroll down to the Midwest 10, you can see Derric's first steps of freedom, but beware: these videos can make you sob.  Just saying.  Okay, so that's it for now.  If you're a follower and you haven't ordered, why not do it today!

Tony Valdez liked an update for Uncharted Territory

Things have been pretty crazy the last couple of weeks. I was hoping to have another chapter finished by now, but I'm not quite there. Working on it when I can, though. The majority of this week has, of course, been taken up by Christmas stuff, plus buying a bike since I don't have a car anymore and needed to get around without pestering people for rides. That turned into a whole saga in itself, which involved a couple of eight-mile hikes to pick up the bike and, a couple days later, a bike pump I was too distracted to get the first time. Needed the pump because the guys who assembled the bike didn't inflate the tires enough and I didn't notice it until I was almost home that first day.

I should've noticed something was off, though. I was having a hell of a time pedaling the bike, but I just assumed it was because I'm just really out of shape and hadn't been on a bike in nearly ten years. ;) But the problem was resolved and now I can get to work and the grocery store without needing someone to pick me up, so yay. :D

I intend to keep working on the next chapter of Uncharted Territory and post it within the next few days. Hopefully things will smooth out now that Christmas is here and things get back to normal.

In the meantime, I want to thank everyone who's following Uncharted Territory, as well as those who followed and pre-ordered Project Revenant. The support means the world to me.

Uncharted Territory, by the way, is (as I've mentioned before) expanded and fleshed out from the short story "Mission to Bellatrix," which was first published in the paranormal/sci-fi romance anthology, Lucky Stars. A couple reader reviews of the story (which can be found on the Amazon and Goodreads pages), while I'm here .... ;)

        From one review:

Mission to Bellatrix by Fred T. Kerns- Rating- 5 This was my first sci-fi book I've ever read all the way through. It's not my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed this one. Kolya has a scarred face that has been a slight hindrance in helping her meet a love interest because of this she's a hitchhiker for spaceships and ends up meeting Donovan on her way to board a ship that's going to explore a long-lost ship. This was closer to a full length novel at 18 chapters, which threw me for a loop. I kept expecting things to pick up quicker than they did. However, the novel was long enough that we got a lot of what is going on. I really enjoyed all the awesome innuendos. The crew of the ship were likable and at times had me laughing. There aren't any sex scenes in this story, it closes the door right on them. I loved the relationship between Donovan and Kolya and how we got to see it blossom slowly and sweetly. I can't believe I liked this one as much as I did, in fact I might make my husband read this one!

        And from another:

Mission to Bellatrix by Fred T. Kerns - Ok, this was another sci-fi, so it was a little different for me. I did find myself getting caught up in the descriptions, the details and the imagery. I enjoyed reading it after I was a few pages in. There was a certain strength that I got from Kolya. She was a strong character, and it was nice to read that in a female character. I enjoyed reading the interactions and banter between Kolya and Donovan.

Finally, I'll draw this quick little update to a close by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Tony Valdez liked an update for Isolation

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great holiday break. I haven't really updated a lot on here but I'll try to get better about that heading into the new year. I have finally finished the first draft of Isolation and I am now going back and doing some small edits to a few chapters. I will be posting a few more sample chapters over the next few days. Check them out and leave some reviews or pre-order and share with friends. Thank you for all of your support for this novel and look for a new chapter soon!
