Leo Valiquette liked an update for The Midnight Warriors

Dear readers,

Please excuse me for the long pause that I have been off Inkshares. While I’ve been gone, my editor and I edited my book, designed the cover and published it today on Amazon. Like I said, I will no longer be working with Inkshares, and if you haven’t received it already, all pre-ordering money will refunded very soon, so hang tight!

On the other hand, like I said, the book is published! This is such an exciting day, and I can’t wait for you to read it too! So, with the link down below, please go and order my book today!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1954779135

Side note: (Texas residents, please do not order the book just yet, because there will something in store for you very soon, but trust me, The Midnight Warriors will be in your hands before you know it!)

For future updates, as I will be signing off on Inkshares, follow me on my instagram, @themidnightwarriors.

Thank you for making this happen and being behind me every step of the way,

Nirmani

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Infodemic

I wanted to send an update on the status of Infodemic, one of three finalists in the 2020 Inkshares contest. I have now finished working on the manuscript with an outside editor, the talented and lovely Michele Abramowitz.

As of Friday, I have passed the manuscript onto the Inkshares team and am awaiting the next steps. Thanks again to everyone who has preordered a copy of the novel or otherwise supported this book throughout 2020/2021.

In the meantime, do check out my email newsletter, where I will soon be sharing a non-fiction investigative story that I’m currently writing for Slate.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for The Bird’s Road

      Hello All,

On the first day of July, the ebook version of The Bird’s Road will arrive in the email you provided to Inkshares.

Inkshares is sending both ePub and .Mobi files. The ePub version is the one you’ll want to open in your Kindle app or whatever computer science machine you know how to use.

I don’t know what .Mobi is; I assume it’s some sort of whale - possibly pale, large, and potentially dangerous at sea.

The paperback version is currently being packaged by Ingram and should send to those of you that purchased that version, later this week. If you preordered the paperback from Inkshares, during the crowdfunding phase, you will also receive the ebook version on July 1st.

So, to wrap up this message, the ebook goes out this week and the paperback arrives next week.

If you are interested in where I am and the long story of publishing my book, check out the link below.

Leo Valiquette sent an update for Bane of All Things

Hey, how’s it going! I am glad to report that the reveal of Bane of All Things’ cover last week met with widespread praise.

So, what’s next? Garnering advance reviews and buzz to make sure this book is a success …  and there are things you can do to help with that.

First, if you are active on Goodreads.com, you can add BoAT to lists where it will gain more attention. There are literally thousands of existing lists, created by users like us.

Some of the lists that may be a fit for BoAT include:

        • Adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy of 2021
        • Best Upcoming Fantasy Debuts (2021
        • Can’t Wait Sci-Fi/Fantasy of 2021
        • Sci-Fi and Fantasy Must Reads
        • Best New Fantasy Novel
        • Fantasy Books Written for Adults
        • Fantasy Books Releasing in 2021
        • The Most Beautiful Covers of 2021
        • Anticipated Books of 2021

I could go on, but you get the idea. You can add a book to as many lists as you want.

And you can of course add BoAT to your own Want to Read list or Fantasy or Epic Fantasy Shelf. (Creating your own Shelf for a specific genre like Fantasy or Epic Fantasy and adding a book there is also key to how Goodreads’ algorithm works to help other users find the kinds of books they want to read.)

Second, there is NetGalley.com. Publishers post their upcoming titles here. You can sign up for free as a reviewer to get an advance digital copy of a book for free in exchange for an honest review. BoAT is available there now. Of course, if you have pre-ordered BoAT, you have already paid for a copy or copies that you will receive this fall.

(If you do decide to sign up at NetGalley, you may want to use the NetGalley Shelf app on your mobile device for reading versus the Send to Kindle option. The Kindle-friendly file format isn’t available yet and the current PDF has some clunky formatting issues on a Kindle. You can read it on a Kindle, but it’s not pretty.)

That’s it for now. Your continued support is so very much appreciated. It seems like only yesterday that BoAT’s release date of Nov. 16 was eight months off. Now it’s only four and change!

        Stay safe and keep reading.

        Cheers

        Leo

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Training to be Myself:

Happy and Healthy Summer to all of you! I’m sure you’re aware because I won’t shut up about it, but in less than a month, my book will finally be out! July 20th is the release date of the paperbook. You may get the ebook earlier, but I can’t guarantee that. A THOUSAND THANK YOUS for all your support, generosity, and patience! Although the delay was extended and I worried if it would ever happen, now that it’s around the corner I’m freaking out. I’m sure there’s a lot I’d change about the book now, but you know what, I support the me who wrote it, just like you did. So thanks for being the model.

Anyway, I wanted to give you this little update and to say that you may want to change your address on file if you have moved since it’s not only been three years, but also three years with a world-upending pandemic in the mix. You can sign in at Inkshares, then click on your icon in the upper right and there will be a Shipping Address option. I’d happily change it for you, but they won’t let me. Your other option is to send me your new address and I’ll send you the book from stack of author copies I get. It’s a small stack and I plan on sneaking some into libraries so I wouldn’t bank on this option, but I’ll do my best. Ok, that’s all. Thank you again! Hope you’re well and I’m excited to see/talk to you in 2021.

          All the best,

          Jake
