Tony Valdez liked an update for The Talkers are Talking

Hello everyone!! Just wanted to let you know that for 10 bucks a month (or two lattes) you can help indie authors get their book published (and you get a copy of each book too!) With encouragement from some of the wonderful people at Inkshares and the backbone of the entire community, John Robin, I've decided to launch a syndicate that will search out and support stories with a strong female leads. If you can't contribute, please spread the word! I'm thinking of it as a great way to read more every month in a unique Book Club sort of way.

Much love xx

Tony Valdez liked an update for The Kairos Prophecy: New Beginnings

    We're not dead!

Hello everyone, Kelly and I would like to send out a quick reminder that we are still working on the book. We had a few setbacks (Thea catching a murderous cold), but now for the new year, we look forward into making it big this time. Thea had gifted herself this Christmas the Scrivener application that John Robin (Author of Blood Dawn) highly recommends. She is in love with it and only curses the fact that her job got in the way of using it more (though luckily has been sneaking her laptop into work to continue writing on some days). And Kelly has been finding what little time she can on editing and development of plot/characters.

We both would like to welcome our new readers, we greatly appreciate you following us and we will give you a follow back as well. If you want, we have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KairosBookSeries , where you can also get more updates on our progress (not much as we are still trying to balance life, writing, and self-promoting)

Well, not much else to say other than we are still here!!!

Email us if you have any questions (of help): kairos.prophecy.book@gmail.com

    Happy reading!!

Tony Valdez liked an update for Seven Shards: The Colors of Wine

Happy Hump Day! In the spirit of distraction and fun, I'd like to share a couple of recommendations for other Inkshares projects that are currently funding. This may become a bi-monthly thing (two books, twice a month), provided I remember to continue doing it. ;)

BTW - If you haven't visited the site since ordering Seven Shards, I invite you to log back in and see if you have any free credits on your account. And if you do, I encourage you to spend them!

      Onto the recommendations!

First up is Exile, Magus by Thomas J. Arnold. This is a true fantasy book for fantasy lovers. If you're at all intrigued, act fast because its funding window ends in two days!

“First in a series following a dwarven magus entering a world he grew up only hearing of. As he strives to find a place amid countless dangers (and at least one too many gnomes) his naivete in life and love may bring more danger than any foe could.”

      &

Women Like Us by Jason Pomerance, a fictional tale of family and food. Be sure to check out the recipes Jason's been sharing towards the bottom of his page!

“A down and dirty chef and her starchy ex-mother-in-law must bond when a crisis threatens a member of the family.”

That's it for January. More recommendations are due to land early next month!

Tony Valdez liked an update for The Children of the Forest

        Hello everybody!

I don't have much time so I'll be keeping this brief, although I have a lot to talk about! The S&L contest is over, and unfortunately The Children of the Forest did not take one of the top 3 places. I'm still very proud that the novel managed to hold onto 5th. With the contest finished, the grind goes on.

I decided to bring in an outside pair of eyes to help detail the opening parts of the book, and thankfully, the ever-incredible John Robin took the time to help edit and offer constructive criticism and advice for the book. I've updated Chapters 1-5 to reflect the changes to the story, and I'm quite happy with the results. John Robin is of course the author of "Blood Dawn," which is also funding on Inkshares, and if you haven't yet, you should immediately check out his work. It's fantastic.

Looking ahead, I've restructured the rewards and information for The Children of the Forest, and anticipate the outline provided on the book's Inkshares page will be the model I hold to for the remainder of its funding duration. Due to a combination of critical and fan feedback, I truly believe in the story and characters more than ever, and intend to fight and claw my way to the 750 sales required to see a full publishing deal realized.

This is the point where I'd like to implore anyone who has followed me or look my work previously (and this goes double for those of you who have passed on pre-ordering) to give the book another chance. The chapters have been cleaned up or else "fixed" and they all read amazingly-well. Further still, I've added more rewards and services to give early-backers extra incentives to pre-order.

Lastly, I just want to let everyone know that the Amazon prize drawing is still scheduled to take place. Due to unforeseen developments I was not able to find the time to enter all of your information into a random generator. I will be taking care of this tonight or tomorrow, at which time the winner's name will be announced!

I guess that's it for now, so until next time, everyone be safe and enjoy the updates! ~

          Hello everyone!

So I know this is way late and all that, but I have just been doing a lot of thinking and didn't want to post until I had figured everything out! =)

So here is what is going on! When I first started this project, pretty much everything in my life went a little crazy, and not the good kind of crazy. So lots of ups, mostly downs, which did not leave a lot of time for writing and updating and promoting, all that jazz. I really tried with my posts and I really tried to be optimistic, but things just weren't really working for me. Because of that, my campaign is almost at an end and I only have 7 pre-orders (which I will forever be grateful for!!!) With all that said, here is my plan:
I am going to let this campaign run it's course. There are about 3 weeks left and I am just going to let it be so I can mostly work on getting my life back in order. Once this ends, I will see where things are in my life and go from there. I am really hoping that, by that time, I will be at a point in my life where I am able to focus more on writing and on a new campaign. I will be able to promote and bug people and offer great gifts to people who pre-order, all that stuff!

So anyways, I am not sure what happens when a campaign ends and the pre-order isn't met, but hopefully I can just start over with the same stuff once I am ready!

I can never express just how grateful I am to everyone that followed me and my story and to those that pre-ordered! My story was trending at one point on this site, and that was probably the best thing that happened in December! So thank you thank you so much everyone!!
And keep your eyes and ears open… Sweet Torture will be back one day! =D
