Thomas J. Arnold liked an update for Disintegration

Dearest readers and followers, alike. Jeremy Thomas, the CEO of Inkshares, sent out some good news this morning: they are restructuring how they handle manuscripts up for publication ... and those changes greatly benefit Disintegration.

The minimum threshold for "light-publication" is now 250 copies. Currently, we've sold 363. That means, come 10/30, Disintegration will receive the following: inclusion in a new, yet-to-be-named Inkshares collection; a light edit; an ISBN; limited distribution  (including physical and digital on Amazon.com). Readers, you made this happen; your support in the contest was immense. Thank you.

As a result, if you've pre-ordered already, you'll receive a physical copy (or copies) of Disintegration, printed through Inkshares' print-on-demand service.

This is great, huh? Well, it gets better.

Now, the full-funding threshold is 750 copies, down from 1,000. That means we're almost halfway there! The one catch is that, on 10/30, the price of a pre-order will rise from $10 to $20, so you still have a week to get on board at the $10 price and get all of the goodness I've already mentioned, above. For the next seven days, you can still play a significant role in bringing this story to hard-cover life for a relatively insignificant price! Think about being able to tell folks: "Yeah, I helped publish this book." (How cool are you, right? :) )

If my book makes the 750 mark, I'll receive a trip to San Francisco to sign copies for you and to have lunch with the Inkshares team. Exciting! Also, I've got one of those wacky signatures that looks nothing like my name, so it'll look great on your copy of Disintegration when you show it off to people. ;)

Please, if you haven't gotten on board yet, come along now and embark on a great sci-fi adventure with deep character exploration. If you love immersive fiction and multi-dimensional characters, you will love this book, even if sci-fi isn't your genre.

Leeloo would also like you to "Please help." How could you say no to Milla Jovovich? :)

AHOY THERE, READERS! GOOD MORNING! And what an interesting morning it is!

Apologies for the non-communication as of late. Like many folks who run a campaign such as this, begging every family member, coworker, associate, stranger on the street, etc to buy my book, I had certainly felt a bit discouraged as of late. We've hit 106 pre-orders! Woo hoo! Unfortunately, that is still a long ways off from 1,000 needed for publishing. And the end of the campaign, December 6th, is approaching fast. Things aren't exactly looking swell for Commander Dax Harrison...

Then I received an email this morning from Inkshares, telling me that they are changing their policies to ensure that more great books get published. Guess what? Now I only need to make 250 orders. 250!!!

Officially, it's 750 for the complete package deal. Full professional editing, a trip to the Inkshares office where I could personally sign each first edition for you guys, and so on. However, if I get at least to 250 pre-orders, Inkshares will still publish a limited run of the book, including digital and physical distribution on Amazon. And yes, you will all get your physical copies!

Here's the catch. As of October 30th, at 12:00pm Pacific Time, the price of the book goes up to $20. If you already ordered a copy, you DO NOT have to pay more. But from here on, I'll be convincing people to buy a $20 book instead of a $10 one. So here's what I need from you, dear readers.

Have you not clicked that pre-order button yet? NOW IS THE TIME. If you have any friends, family, coworkers, associates, etc that you have not yet bothered to death about this book, NOW IS THE TIME. From now until noon, October 30th, the price is still $10. Now is the time to convince everyone you know to buy a copy and shoot us up to that 250 mark! Also, have you racked up any credits on your Inkshares account? Now is the time to use them for more copies of the book! It'll make a great Christmas gift, I promise! :)

For those who have already ordered and spread the word, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, mind, and everywhere else. Whatever happens, through Inkshares or not, I promise this book will be published. And I can only hope you appreciate what I deliver. Thank you again, and have an awesome weekend!

    -Tony

Everyone is really respectful and rather great around here! Thanks for the intelligent diatribe! I also would like to say that as I am writing, I am publishing it, so what is being read is the first drafts. Later on when the story plays out, then I will go back, but if I stop now the movie that is playing in my head of Genevra's adventures, I might stop seeing it! Good vibes to all!

A call to all DRAGONS, and those waiting to become DRAGONS. I have something new to offer!

Those not familiar, a DRAGON is a reader who pre-orders 7 copies -- 1 for themselves, and 6 for friends who love epic fantasy. DRAGONS get a t-shirt with the Blood Dawn dragon emblem by author and artist AC Weston, as well as a special Dragon name which I add to my world mythology.

I'm on the lookout for more DRAGONS, because backers who buy 7 copies can help get Blood Dawn in the hands of new readers who were not part of the funding campaign.

If you really believe in this project and want to help, consider being a DRAGON backer and help to spread the word about Blood Dawn after it's publication so that we can continue to get the word out to new readers. Here's a link that will let you become a DRAGON right now: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/blood-dawn/orders/card?amount=69.93&quantity=7

Here is something new I will give to 4 lucky DRAGONS:

Those are high-quality laser-etched business card holders, featuring the Blood Dawn dragon emblem made by author AC Weston. I will be giving these out to 4 randomly chosen DRAGONS once Blood Dawn hits 1,000 pre-orders. These are the handiwork of an innovative company called Polar Grinders (although they now specialize in metal herb grinders, I was fortunate to get the last of their business card holders).

Have I convinced you to become a DRAGON yet? Again, here's a link where you can become a DRAGON right now: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/blood-dawn/orders/card?amount=69.93&quantity=7

Regardless of how you show support for this project, please if you haven't backed Blood Dawn yet, go and do so now:

            • Buy 1 copy (SUN PRIEST): https://www.inkshares.com/projects/blood-dawn/orders/card?amount=9.99
            • Buy 3 copies (GOD-KING): https://www.inkshares.com/projects/blood-dawn/orders/card?amount=29.97&quantity=3
            • Buy 7 copies (DRAGON -- *THE BEST!*):

              DO YOU HAVE  SYNESTHESIA?

I've gotten a couple of notes about folks here that experience some kind of Synesthesia, so thought I'd give you a little more on its various forms. It's pretty fascinating and they've only just begun to discover the way in which it shows up in folks. (Thus, 'The Hide')

              Here goes...

              * If you experiences letters or numbers with a specific color, you may have Grapheme-Color Synesthesia.

              * If certain sounds trigger the visualization of colored, generic shapes, often squares, circles, that kind of thing, you may have Sound-to-Color Synesthesia.

              * When a person thinks about numbers and  a number map is involuntarily visualized, they may have Number-Form Synesthesia.

              *  Ordinal-linguistic personification  is when an  individual experiences ordered sequences with various personalities. Ordered sequences may include numbers, letters, months and so on. For example, a person with OLP may look at the letter ‘A’ and think in his mind that ‘A’ is a rude letter. (I discovered all three of my daughters have this while studying up for The Hide).

              * Lexical-Gustatory Synesthesia is when people experience a taste or smell with a certain phoneme or word.

I'd love to know if anyone here has one or more of these. There are a few theories out there that synesthetes tends to be unique thinkers and I can think of no more creative group than this one.
