A week has passed! Time for your update, fine folk:
Unplanned update time!
When I got home and checked my email last night I was quite excited to see that I had been chosen this month for the Epic Fantasy Syndicate. Beyond being a boost for Magus’ order number it was a huge boost to my confidence. We still have a long way to go though, so keep referring others to Magus and order if you haven’t already.
I want to share a map now, but I’m on my phone so that will have to wait. Look for it tomorrow.
Thanks for all of your support, and keep reading amd enjoying!

This video, in its ENTIRETY, is how I feel. I’m on an award list next to N.K. Jemison and Jim Butcherrrrrrrr.
You did this. All of you that took the time to answer my plea and nominate me – and I cannot thank you enough. It makes me feel fantastic. This is great for exposure for AMOD and I was already going to be at DragonCon – so now MY SWAGGER WILL UNHOOK PLANETS IN THEIR VERY ORBITS. It is your fault that I will act like an even bigger asshole at the con! Feel the surge of pride!
Now – if you haven’t already registered to vote – you should!
http://application.dragoncon.org/dc_fan_awards_signup.php
You should vote for me – and my Sword & Laser/Inkshares shelf-brethren: The Life Engineered by J.F. Dubeau and An Unnattractive Vampire by Jim McDoniel.
BUT
LET’S BE CALM AND RATIONAL FOR JUST A SECOND.
Take another look at the bracket I’m in. Here’s who I’m up against.
SO. What does my book have going for it? Well – you guys AND:
IT’S THE ONLY BOOK WITH ‘DRAGON’ IN THE TITLE.
SO LET’s DO IT!
Okay – okay. Honestly, I’ve already won. This is all I ever wanted out of The Dragon Award – to get nominated, get a little more attention on the book, etc. Thanks again to everyone who nominated me. You made this happen. (I always say that like an accusation…) I get to pretend to be a big shot for a little bit longer – the awards actually get announced AT the con, which adds the perfect amount of sizzle to the weekend. It’s fun to be at the big table for a hot second – even though I’m still wearing my bib. So vote! Vote for MEEEE. But with the knowledge that I already feel awesome and I’m going to have a blast with this entire situation all the way through someone else winning the Dragon Award that should have been miiiineeeeeee.
With heart-eyes emoji for you all –
Dragon-Nominated Author [hey this is a thing now!]

With all the commotion in my life recently, Ive striven for a better life. I needed an outlet to pour my creativity into. Thankfully because of the lovely people at Geek and Sundry and at Inkshares, I am able to put my idea out into the world. I want to personally thank all the readers Ive gathered so far, though it’s not many. You’ve all believed in my idea and put your money behind me. That is an incredibly humbling experience and I wish every writer could experience it.
I don’t plan to sit at 16 preorders at the time of writing this for very long however.
For those of you who are willing to support me, please tell others you know about my book! Tell your family, your friends, your pets, the neighbors, your weird co workers. I need all the support from every single source I come across. I have alot of ground to make up if I wanna have a chance to get a top spot for the Geek and Sundry Fantasy contest.
Thank you all again for your support
-Joseph
Hello everyone!
Thank you all so much for your early support of The War of Wind and Moon, Season One, I’ve been blown away by your kind words about the project and the warm welcome to the site as a whole. I think I’m going to be here a while, however this campaign goes!
I’ll be adding a little incentive to pre-order to the project page, today, and I didn’t want any of you to miss out simply because you followed me so early. As it will be some time until the end of the campaign and, if all goes well, the publishing period, I’d like to offer everyone who pre-orders The War of Wind and Moon something to read in the mean time - in the form of a free eBook copy of my contemporary thriller, As Long As She Lives.
(I’d love to offer you a fantasy novel, which may be more to your taste, but The War of Wind and Moon is my first foray into the genre (as a writer, that is).)
If real-world suspense (with a little romance) isn’t your thing, feel free to gift the link and (single-use) code to a friend who you think would enjoy it.
About As Long As She Lives
“…give everyone a different part of your story, then the gossip will be all about putting your story together, not questioning it.”
After 4 years teaching in central Africa, Caitlyn Lancaster returns to her family in Australia, telling them she’s been sent home because of looming political unrest. But Cait is more fragile than she and her Federal police handler anticipated. She’s forced to accept that childhood family friend, now police detective, Riley Duncan must be told the brutal truth if she is to keep herself and her family safe.
With Riley’s support, Cait begins to recover her strength but civil war erupts around her friends in Umoja and her harrowing secret becomes the key to that nation’s future.
Putting her faith in her handler, Cait takes the ultimate risk only to discover that Agent Koffa has failed to take into account one vital detail…he’s not as good at his job as he thinks he is.
Once again, my heartfelt thanks for your support,
Darcy :)

Hi everyone!
I know it’s just the first week, but I really appreciate the support thus far. I’m not sure if it says it on the story page, but Big Bad Beautiful is entered into a fantasy contest on this site. The top 3 books with the most unique reader pre-orders are published, so any way you can get the word out to more people is appreciated. The story is complete, and I’m going to keep adding chapters as the contest goes on. So stay tuned, and thanks again!
The virus lingered in her. It was a weapon of the old world, put into people to turn them strong so they could kill other people. And they did, they killed many people, so many people that the old world dried up and died. But even after it ended and the Grandmothers started everything again, the virus remained. Grandmother found it where it hid, captured it, controlled it, used it. There was no mystery in it. Lost sciences turned men into monsters when the moonlight awoke the v. . .
