Mark Anthony Ciccone commented on Discarded
Hello, all!

Just wanted to announce that my latest alternate history novella, "For State and Country," is now upon Amazon Kindle, and will be soon on Smashwords.com! Since pre-orders have lagged lately on Discarded, I’ve decided to add this work to the offer I made a little while ago, with the following changes:

1. For every 10 orders, I will post  a new excerpt from Discarded, and the 10th person will receive a copy of For State and Country.

2. For every 25 orders, a new Discarded section will be posted, and the last 5 people to order will earn free copies of FSAC and my first e-novella, Dillinger in Charleston.

This revised offer will be in place for the rest of the campaign. Please spread the word, and order if you’re so inclined!

Mark Anthony Ciccone created a forum thread: Recommendations & Credits
    Hello!

When you recommend a book via the function on its page, do you receive credits for doing so? Also, when you receive offers to trade pre-orders, or a request for a referral code (in my case, often as  part of a pitch), does this award credits to you, the requester, or both? I’ve emailed in the past about this and related issues, but being such a newbie to Inkshares and crowdfunding in general, I guess somehow I’m still not fully understanding it

    Good evening!

As of tonight, Discarded is roughly three-quarters complete, leaving aside all in project and future edits. Unfortunately, for a variety and life and work reasons, I won’t be able to meet the deadline mentioned in the previous post; such a pain when the real world intrudes into the writer cave, isn’t it? :) On the plus side, the draft now stands above 100k in word count; the equivalent to two novels, as every Wrimo on this site can attest to, and no small feat for any writer. As I’ve said before, writing straight-out scifi is still a new experience for me in many ways, as exciting as it is daunting. Deadlines aside, I will keep working on this draft in every way until it is complete, even if the campaign runs out before then.

My pre-order offer from the previous update still stands as well. I hope that anyone who reads it will pass it on, regardless of whether or not they have the credits, or are interested in pre-ordering through other means. I very much want to swap orders, but don’t currently have enough credits myself (or other funds, like most starving writers) to swap for the many, MANY projects that’ve caught my eye since I joined this site. If you’ve pitched to me, or have otherwise shared your willingness to swap, fear not--you have been heard!

Besides all this, please just review and/or recommend!
