It’s the year 2147: a time of enduring peace on Earth. The Last War ended half a century ago. We can cure most ills, the air is pure, and teleportation is how we get around. Sounds great, right? So why does everyone suddenly want to kill Joel Byram?

And a grand hello to all my wonderful followers. We have news. Get comfortable cause this is going to be a long one.

First of all let’s have the super awesome news. WE’VE DONE IT!! WE’VE MADE QUILL!! THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN!! It’s hard to really express how I’m feeling right now. This is the first full length book I’ve dedicated myself to writing and to see it go so far is nothing less than amazing. But it didn’t make it there on it’s own. It’s because of all of you that my dream is going to become a reality. There are a hand full of amazing people that I want to give a shout out to. They are truly awesome.

Joni Dee, author of And the Wolf Shall Dwell

Andre Brun, Author of Lies and Deception

Brian Fitzpatrick, author of Mechcraft

Tabi Craft, author of Scribbles

Alexander Barnes, author of The Amaranth Chronicles: Deviant Rising

These fantastic people really made the difference in the last stretch and I can’t thank them enough. You’re all a treasure. I really mean it.

On to other things. Now that we have hit 250 that means it’s time for another 50 Point RAFFLE!!!! And the winner is...

Mike Donald!!! You’re the winner to the 50 Point Raffle Quill Edition!! I don’t know what makes this one more special but I’ll think of something. I’ll be contacting you to get your info so I can send your super soft Beyond the Code blanket.

Thank you all for everything. This whole experience had taught me so much, made me grow as a person, and has brought me alot of great friends.

QUILL!!!!!!

    Hello Friends

There are so many exciting things happening I don’t even know where to start.

The Catcher’s Trap is edited. This means that the manuscript is done and ready. Just writing that sentence seems unbelievable to me.

Also the front and back covers are almost ready. Below it’s the final design (never mind the typos they will be fixed)

Probably the most exciting news to report is that my book is already part of the Ingram catalog (they are a big book distributor) which means that the book is available for bookstores to order, and three independent bookstores already have ordered it.

Eight months ago, when I jumped into that crazy Nerdist contest, I had no idea what I was doing. I just went all in; like in this video of me yesterday in the Puerto Rican rain forest.

Thanks to all of you, I made it to the other side with a publishing deal.

I can’t be more thankful and more excited.

Right now I’m sitting in front of a pool in sunny Puerto Rico, writing chapter 6 of Worlds Walker (The Catcher’s Trap sequel) I am so full of inspiration and so determined to write a great book that I hope all of you will support and love when the time comes.

If you want to read the preface of Worlds Walker you can find it here. You can also follow the project if you like.

    Have a fantastic day.

Would just like to announce we’ve received an extension! Our campaign was suppose to end tomorrow but Inkshares was gracious enough to offer a 60 day extension pushing our new Pre-Order deadline out toward the end of July! I don’t think we would have been able to do this without the explosion of pre-orders we had last week. Now we’re a mere 40 Pre-Orders from hitting our publishing goal. I want to thank all of you for your efforts. We’re almost there you guys!!!!

El liked an update for Lucky

        Hi, Lucky Readers,

Wow you guys! What an amazing spike in support in the past couple of days. We are even the tiniest smidgen ahead of the "ideal" pre-order rate suggested by Inkshares.

I have written an entire novel but I feel at a loss to properly express my gratitude to all of you who have purchased a copy of this novel and are helping make it such a success. Most sincerely, thank you all.

If you’re on the fence about ordering a copy for yourself, check out some of the reviews on the project page. So many smart people can’t be wrong, right?

        (pictured: being on the fence)

Keep up the sharing and keep up the support! As added incentive, when we get to 325 copies sold, I will update the excerpts and share some of the new material I am working on for the middle of the novel (hint hint).

        Happy reading!

          Readers,

Lucky is trucking along. We’ve picked up several new sales over the past couple of days and I’m happy to say it looks like life is picking up all around! I’ll be spending the evening continuing to edit and polish.

My latest blog post is up and is on time this week! You can check it out here: https://rhwebster.wordpress.com/2016/05/03/sub-genres-of-sf-time-travel/ I hope you enjoy!

El liked an excerpt from Seven Shards: The Colors of Wine
It was said to be a haunted forest, though haunted by what the stories never said.
