Howdy Team Pirates!

I hope you had an amazing weekend!!

I just wanted to write to say, THANK YOU ALL for your ongoing support of the book. It means so much to me, my family, and my friends. Your interest, support, feedback, and your encouragement is the best part of this process, although I do love the writing part! Again, I thank you all. I feel beyond humbled.

I’ve posted Chapter 5, as I wanted to introduce you all to  Sean Oliphant. He is based on an old paleo boss of mine. 10 points to anyone who guesses who!

I’ll leave you with a reminder of, arguably, the most selfless act ever committed. Not really, but still.

James Rasile liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Thanks to an enormous outpouring of support over the past two days, Tantalus Depths is rapidly becoming the dark horse of Geek and Sundry’s Hard Sci-Fi competition!. We are now solidly in fifth place and are soaring steadily ahead into the vast gap between fifth and fourth. Keep the support coming! Share with your friends and family, bring in everyone you know. There’s a long way to go yet, but we’re making tremendous progress!

Greetings followers of the Space Sloth,

We have reached the T-90 day mark and the start of the summer push for support. My plan was to have all the grading and semester work done by now but I have about two more days of grading left. Multiple choice tests always seem like such a good idea at the END of the semester.  Please be patient as I resist the urge to have a nervous breakdown.

Writing "Fortunes of the Space Sloth" has been an adventure. The story reveals new pieces of itself to me every day and I’m eager to share more. I just know you’ve been dying to get answers to questions like...

Who is Buttercup? And what is her real name? Why is she running around with a nuclear weapon as an accessory?

What was Sebastian’s upbringing like? How is Spacer culture organized? And why IS he such as ass?

And why should they really be keeping a closer eye on Jocko?

These questions, and many others, will be answered in Fortunes of the Space Sloth! (insert your own echo effect fade out)

James Rasile liked an update for The Seventh Aspect

First, I want to say thank you for your interest in my book, and for all of the positive feedback. I really appreciate it. The Seventh Aspect was mentioned on last night’s Drinkshares: Last Call livestream! So, I want to thank Drinkshares host Rebekka Leber (@RebekkaLeber) for her kind words and for “calling me out.”

The first two chapters will be posted the week of May 29th as a submission for DraftFest taking place May 30th – June 5th.

DraftFest is being co-hosted by Drinkshares: Last Call and the Inkshares staff. This is a GREAT opportunity to get feedback on your drafts from members of the Inkshares community. Submit your draft by tweeting @DrinksharesLC with your book title and a link to your book’s Inkshares page, including #amdrafting.

Have you ever wondered why the “Men in Black” wear black in the first place?

        Stay tuned!

James Rasile liked an update for Seeking the Elephant
What a wonderful week for an update!

I’ll be taking a break from our regularly scheduled efforts to convince you that "Seeking the Elephant" is worth your hard earned monies to pre-order. We still have time to reach our 250 goal, and we’re doing great.

Today, I’d rather convince you that Tabi Card’s Scribbles: A Collection of Words is worth those hard earned monies. I’ve been following Scribbles for a while, and was thrilled to order my copy. It experiments with and plays narrative styles like a musical instrument, it’s a pleasure to read, and I genuinely hope that she can make her goal. I don’t want my $10 back! She has 3-days left to make her goal, so please jump over now and help her out!

          -- in other news! --

"Seeking the Elephant" has nearly 150 followers, and I’d like to take a second to ask for your support in generating Recommends & Reviews! These are invaluable here on Inkshares, and I am happy to offer the same to any books for writers I may have missed! I get busy with real life work and don’t always get to read as much as I’d like. This support means the world and gives us more to work with promoting!

Some great reasons to Recommend or Reveille "Seeking the Elephant":
          • Recommends are free and just take a minute!
          • Revisers are free and take just a few minutes more!
          • With all that free stuff, you now have $10 to pre-order Scribbles!
          • No one ever said I was a subtle promoter!
          Have a wonderful day, Inkshares!

There’s been a pleasant flood of new followers here and some purchases (!) so I just wanted to say welcome to all the new people and ’yo’ to all the old people.

            So.
            Welcome.
            Yo.

AMOD seems to be doing well out there in the wild - steady stream of orders from book distributors, small book stores, and solid citizens far and wide. I’m doing an experimental con trip to XCONWORLD next weekend to try out this whole networking - selling books and merch ’thing’. I desperately still need reviews on Amazon and Goodreads from you kind people, and if you feel like nominating me for the Dragon Award - that’d be swell too!
