This is it, guys...

9 DAYS LEFT IN MY CAMPAIGN!

I know I said I’d make a video update, but that kind of fell through at the last minute, so here I am pleading that you help me make one last big PUSH for the Quill finish line!

Rest assured, if we don’t make Quill, I will be looking into some other publishing options, but I REALLY REALLY want to be an Inkshares Quill author! The Inkshares community has been so good to me, I’ve made lots of great friends and have reached a kind of solidarity in the thought that I’m not alone in this crazy endeavor...this dream of being a novelist.

I will see how things go in the next couple of days and if I see light at the end of the tunnel, I will ask for one final extension. So, PLEASE, help me get there!

Thank you!

Lots of good stuff happening, but I’ll be brief (mostly because I’m writing this update during my lunch hour, and I’m starving). First, please be sure to check out my latest The Future Is Now column on Geek & Sundry. This time I examine just exactly how close we are to putting human feet on Mars. (close than you think!)

Now, I get about ten emails every week asking me, "Is the book done, yet?" - So, as is my charter, I will show you just exactly where I am in the rewrite:

As you can see, I’m very, very close to being done with the first rewrite. I’m staying up extra late and waking up extra early every day this week to get it done, and in my editor’s hands in order to meet the Inkshares manuscript delivery deadline of August 1. If I get that done I think there’s a good chance the book will land on the early side of 2017.

While we’re here, I’d like to also update you on the short story I’m writing for the Too Many Controllers anthology, which, if you haven’t already acquired, you really should. As promised, since the anthology reached its 300th reader target, I’m unveiling the name and synopsis of my contribution. My story is entitled: Morcom is here. Here is the synopsis:

A journalist researching the UK’s World War 2 Colossus computing program at Bletchley Park inadvertently unearths Alan Turing’s most complex, clandestine program. A tome of handwritten code designed for a computer that he knew would not exist for decades after his death. Many believe the program to be an artificial intelligence game Turing designed to defeat his own famous test. A one hundred million dollar XPRIZE challenge is announced, awarded to the first person or team who could successfully execute Turing’s opus. A team from the University of Michigan thinks they’ve got what it takes.

Lastly, I wanted to call your attention to my editor, Robert Kroese, and his new book The Big Sheep which is officially available for purchase today. I’m a huge fans of his writing, and this book is sure to entertain. It’s half Philip K Dick, half Douglas Adams. What’s not to love? You can get yourself a copy from Amazon, or, if you’re a collector, autographed copies are available from Schuler Books.

Hey all!! I’ve been spending time with my family and friends in Wisconsin and having a blast, but sadly I’m going back tomorrow :( The competition has been heating up (just how Amasarok likes it) and we’re nearing the end of the month. In order to stay in the Top 3, I need all of the support I can get to make sure Maggie’s story gets published. If you haven’t pre-ordered a copy yet please do so! And tell everybody about my story, especially those who would enjoy reading AYSYWTQ?

I want to represent all of the gamer girls out there and share a unique perspective that’s rare in the literary world!! :)

P.S. I’ll be watching the Game of Thrones finale tonight! :D

Thank you all for following and have a great Sunday!

        Best,

Regarding my other book that’s funding, "An Adventure With Dada..."

WE DID IT!!! 101 Orders!!!And I’m a man of my word, so I’m in the middle of posting the entire book. It takes a while, but 10/28 chapters are posted thus far, and I might have to finish this tomorrow. BUT IT WILL ALL BE POSTED SOON ENOUGH!!!

I hope all of you wonderful people who took the risk of actually purchasing a copy have found the PDF of the entire first draft alive and well in your inboxes. Please let me know if you have not received your copy yet. I’ll get it to you.

And this means PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY READING MY BOOK!

Please let me know what you think, good or bad. I’m just happy people are reading my work!!! That’s what this is all about!

            Now, down to more business...

Since people seemed to think that this was still a children’s book, I changed the cover to something more, well, OBVIOUSLY NOT A CHILDREN’S BOOK. But I’ve gotten some comments that people miss the old "refrigerator art" cover. The only way to resolve this is by a vote. So, send me a reply/DM/email with "Fridge Art" or "Horror Film" as your vote, and you will be put into the character naming raffles and typewriter raffles just for participating.

            Here are the entries:

            "Fridge Art:"

            "Horror Film:"

Voting closes at 110 orders. I’ll let you know then.

Until that time, I’m going to send an update soon with the names of the winner(s) of the first "Name a character" raffle, and please keep an eye out for the entire book to be posted.

This is an amazing time. Thank you all.

Fernando Crôtte sent an update for Mission 51

Today has been a memorable one for Mission 51! With the help of super-fan Sally Reed, her family, and our co-workers, Mission 51 received 12 pre-orders in just one day! Our best day yet! WE (all of us together) have now blasted past the half-way mark to Inkshares’ Quill publication services! Just 122 more pre-orders in the next 42 days and this book becomes a reality!

I want to thank each and every one of you for your pre-orders and your words of encouragement! I will keep working hard to continuously improve the book, so when we hit our mark, it will be ready to go. I can’t wait for you to read it! :-)

Our next goal is a fun one! At the 150 pre-order mark, the Mission 51 Raffle kicks in. Those who have purchased one of the first 150 pre-orders will have a chance at an original Idan Carré signed sketch, a study she drew in preparation for a drawing in the book. It is a one-of-a-kind sort of thing, a great memento of our group effort to get Mission 51 off the ground. You will want to be a part of this!

Thanks again, everybody! I am sincerely humbled. I find it a bit overwhelming to be at the receiving end of so much love and support!

Please continue to help pushing Mission 51 to family, friends, and even to perfect strangers. We still have a ways to go and 42 short days in which to do it! Getting this book published by Inkshares is a group effort. You can send your people this link:

              Peace and love to all!
