Until next time, my space-faring friends...
Happy Friday, backers!
Here is a link to the segment of last night’s Chronicle episode featuring #upMdownC. I have noticed an enormous increase in traffic to my site since the spot ran (see below), and copies sold out almost at once on Amazon. That’s the power of the boob tube for you.
If you notice toward the end of the segment, they show an overlay of someone browsing the reviews you left for the book on Goodreads. This is precisely where all of that advance work comes into play, so once again, THANK YOU! Hopefully, these reviews will convince other readers to give the novel a chance. If you haven’t left a review on Amazon or Goodreads yet, please consider doing so? I had 50 on Amazon a week ago, which means more exposure via search on their site (or so I’ve heard), but they mysteriously took one down. Who will rescue Daniel, Thomas and Bella from sub-50 review hell?
Upcoming: an excerpt from my current novel-in-progress on The Anthill, a writers colony in Beijing; a guest post about the crowdfunding process on Asian Books Blog, a blog about, who would have guessed, Asian books; and a review on The Nanfang, a popular expat blog about China.
Thank you for your support. The book literally (and I hate that word) could not have gotten here without you.

Hello everyone,
The Chronicle episode mentioned in my last update featuring Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside will run this Thursday, June 16th, at 7:30pm EST. Market Share reported that Chronicle beat Jeopardy! in the ratings last month among adults 25-54, so this is surely the most exciting piece of publicity yet. If you can, tune in (or set your DVRs) to see how far you’ve brought this book. And don’t forget to tell anyone else who might be interested! I will make sure to post a link to the segment once it becomes available for those of you who don’t live in New England. Xie xie!
