Hi Team Tacky! 

I’m writing with an update on how our campaign is going. (Spoiler alert-- we are crushing it!) We’ve been selling preorders for exactly a week, and as I write this, we are at 146 copies!! That means we need to sell just over 100 more copies to ensure this gets printed, and about 600 more copies to earn a national marketing and distribution package! To celebrate, I’d like you all to meet the Dread Pirate Bubble Beard. (Read the poem here!) 

Many of you have contacted me with amazing marketing and outreach ideas. Keep them coming! I’ve got some author event plans in the works. For now, one of the best things you can do is to email, call, or message your friends who you feel like would especially like this stuff, ask them to read the poems, and if they like them, to consider ordering. Thanks again for your support so far. You are the absolute greatest!

Hello Delicious Readers! 

Thank you so much.  I’m so honored by the ways that y’all have shared, emailed, and annoyingly pestered your friends into ordering this book.  Thanks to your help, Twisted Tales for Tacky Children has sold over 100 pre-orders in its first weekend!!!

To celebrate our success, I’m posting a new poem to the book’s website.  This one is called, “My Parents Are Kissing Again," (Eww! Gross!) Over the next few months, I’ll be posting new poems, most of which are ones I plan to send over in my final draft to the editor.  Please share these poems widely with your tackiest friends .

Also, big props to my genius little sister, Tori, who suggested that I create a free knitting pattern to promote the book with the many wonderful knitters who visit my blog for the patterns. Here is the hat, and the link to the pattern-please send this to the knitters in your world!We need to sell 250 to get the book printed, and 750 for a full blown publishing contract, and I couldn’t have imagined a better start.
