Hey @Liam, not yet, unfortunately.  If the book is still funding you can purchase another copy and we can refund your original purchase.

This is something we’ve been considering for a while. Anyone else think an ’upgrade’ feature would be useful?

Is there/has there been considered a way to upgrade from an e-book purchase to a softcover without buying outright again?

I.e. if there are a couple things that I picked up in ebook form only but later decide that I want a physical copy, can I apply the existing order to the cost of the new one?

I can’t be the only person who has had second thoughts after buying in at the low tier.

      Hey friends!

I have something special to share with you...

We made a fan video for Blood Dawn by John Robin!!

I’m really excited about this book, and I really want to see it get to full funding: 750 pre-orders. This was not John’s idea at all - this was completely fan-driven. I asked around and a bunch of authors, plus one of John’s beta readers who has read the whole book, volunteered to make their own videos talking about why they’re excited for Blood Dawn. Then Alex and I cut it into a sweet little promo video!

      Watch it here!

This is what happens when people are seriously excited about a book. :)

Aaand... if you decide to pre-order this book, and you want to pledge loyalty to House Vastaron or the dragon Azzavaston for the game of Blood Dawn Risk, be sure to let me and/or John know!! You can send me an email or reply to John’s thank-you email after you order.

      Thanks!

        I’m so EXCITED!

Check out the fan video for Blood Dawn that just went live this morning:

Cara ("A.C.") Weston, author of She Is the End, offered to put together a fan video trailer for Blood Dawn, and HERE IT IS!

Listen to several Inkshares authors talk about what’s GREAT about Blood Dawn and why they can’t wait to read it. In addition to Cara, these authors are:

        • Joseph Asphahani (The Animal in Man)
        • C. Brennecke (Seven Shards: The Colors of Wine)
        • Matthew Isaac Sobin (The Last Machine in the Solar System)
        • Craig Munroe (The Bones of the Past)
        • Michael Sebby (The Inhabitants: An Unremembered Life)
        • Paul Inman (Ageless)

Thank you so much for doing this! Thanks also to one of my beta readers, Tyler Sparrow, who recently read the first draft in its entirety, and added his praise in this video. And THANK YOU to Alex Weston (The "A" in "A.C. Weston") for his expertise putting this video together. This is an EPIC piece to add to the finish of this funding campaign.

I got shivers watching this. What a way to end the week! (Translation: Cara, you are the BEST!)

        :=)

You did it! (Jumping up and down waving hands wildly - it’s not a pretty sight, so we decided not to show the video)

100 Inkshares authors are following this "Idea" and have expressed interest in submitting one or more entries.

This project stands an excellent chance of winning a Full Fledged Inkshares publishing package, due to the following two reasons:

          1. The sponsors, Mykl Walsh and Richard Saunders have already demonstrated the ability to achieve this goal. Their unusual book

          https://www.inkshares.com/books/journey-secretagentman-volume-1-2 (Click Here)

was released in December. It is one of the few Inkshares books that have cracked the Barnes & Noble problem. It is in a few B&N store locations so far and we are working on expanding into more.

On March 12, from 12 to 3 PM, Rich Saunders will be appearing at the Burlington, Massachusetts B&N location. For more info on this book see http://secretagentman.org (click Here).

          2. The second reason is that around 12 to 15 Inkshares authors will have a story, essay or poem in the book. They will share in the income stream and will get a royalty advance. With the combined unrelenting power of ALL of these authors working to generate pre-orders, it is almost guaranteed to reach the 750 pre-order level!

We hope that everyone who believes in this project and submitted an entry (who don’t make the cut, this time), will also help us by recommending the book to their followers.

If this is successful (and we firmly believe it will be), we’ll start soliciting entries for Volume II as soon as we reach the funding level for this one.

Quill is NOT out goal. 750 pre-orders or bust!

So get cracking on your entries! We have received several already and the competition will be tough.

Thanks for all of your support and good luck to everyone here; with this and with your other Inkshares projects!

          Kindest regards,

          Mykl & Rich

            We’re only a month away.

One month and the book you power-wished into being will be released onto an unsuspecting public. Rumors are spreading that the books are back from the printer and will soon be making their way into your hands. You’ll get to read it first, and a month from now it will be out in the wild, impossible to reclaim. I have become a pulsing anxiety-cluster.

Let us focus on something more crucial. A party.

Avid Bookshop - Athens, GA - April 5th.

I adore Avid - this is my home bookshop, and I defy you to find a better. They are clever, courteous, cultured, and cute.

If you can come you should come. No excuses. Book the flights, project yourself through the medium of the astral plane, piggyback on a passing underwear salesman. Get here. You have a month to figure it out. There will be music. There will be me in a wizard cape. There will be a 17 act play I’ve entitled ’Hubris Poignant: A Portrait of the Writer as a Nuclear Firestorm’. We’ll go out for drinks afterwards. Then I’ll tell you what I really think about Lev Grossman and The Magicians. I’ll only have a few hours to spare before the Rich and Famous Bus arrives with my Genre Authority Shoes and Internet Sage Scepter, so enjoy these fleeting moments of my mortality before I ascend into something quite akin to a small, mewling god-baby.

I mean, how could you miss all that?

Happy Friday!  Couple of small updates.  While work on cover design continues, and while we await word on the edit, some loose ends regarding contests are also being wrapped.  This week a couple of really sweet bone-in Ribeyes were sent to the winner of the McCall’s Meat And Fish Gift Certificate, and I have been in contact with a tattoo artist about the Honor-Derric-Of-The-Beagle-Freedom-Project tattoo. This should be fun (and maybe a little painful!)  Meanwhile royalties have started to trickle in, and the first 10% donation to the Beagle Freedom Project has been made. So if you haven’t ordered and you want to help a good cause and read a good book, hit that pre-order button!  Also, don’t forget if you’re on Facebook to head over the book’s Facebook page. There I’ll be posting updates on the production process and whatever interesting things I think you might like. Here’s the link in case you missed it.

Oh, and the extremely talented Steven Murashige took my author photo, which appears below. As you can see we decided on something more casual and fun rather than ultra-serious. I love the picture, and I can’t thank him enough. Check out Steven’s site for more on his work here:

I think that’s it for now.  Thanks all and have a great Friday.
