Matthew Isaac Sobin liked an update for Pilot X

Halfway There. THANK YOU!

So we just hit the halfway mark on the way to full publishing of Pilot X. Cannot thank you enough. It’s incredibly humbling to see not only how many people are willing to take a flyer on this novel, but how many of you are going out on Twitter and Facebook and Snapchat and telling other folks about it.

Y’all are the best.

I want to put up another sample chapter for you to get a little more of a peek at the book but I’m curious what you might like to see.

More from the prologue? A page from the Encyclopedia Alenda describing some more about the races? The pinepapple planet?

Let me know!

And thanks again!

Tom

    Asteroid Made of Various Information

Hello everyone! This space has been a little quiet since launch - but I wanted to update you on some cool things that are happening, new reviews, wheedle some more help out of you, and talk a little about the future.

    • AMOD on Kirkus.com! - The Lighter Side of Science Fiction and Fantasy . Top of the list, son - and it has nothing to do with the alphabet, I’m sure.
    • New review on The Warbler. - "Asteroid Made of Dragons is a self-aware, funny, and action-packed novel that is basically a Dungeons and Dragons adventure in delicious prose. It is absurd and delightful, with a great cast of characters, fun set pieces, and suffused with a larger-than-fantasy-life essence that punctuates every page of the book."
    • My Publisher’s Weekly review, because I’ll never be tired of linking it.
    • Speaking of reviews - I still NEED YOURS on Amazon and Goodreads.
    • Crazy milestone - as of about a week ago, we have sold more books than were pre-ordered, and passed what was the actual pre-order goal without the contest. Probably no one was paying attention to this but me, but I’m super relieved so Inkshares won’t feel like it got cheated.
    • I want to win an award and feel like a fancy person. You can help me do that by nominating my for the first annual Dragon Award at Dragon*Con. YES IT IS A LITTLE ON THE NOSE, I DON’T CARE. Further details here. Being nominated alone would be VITAL exposure for the book, so I’d really appreciate you guys taking a moment if you don’t mind.

And now, the future? I’m bad about planning my life only so far in advance - with big horizon moments, after which there is nothing. The launch of this book was most definitely a cliff, and now I’m stumbling forward a little aimlessly. There should be more exciting things coming up about AMOD and I’ll tell you all about them as they arise, but the life cycle of a book is long. I can’t keep hovering over my various social media channels waiting for news or refreshing Goodreads and Amazon for the umpteenth time to see if a new review has popped up indefinitely. I’m going to a convention in May, that’ll be fun? I’m writing something new and that’s exciting?

Are we breaking up? Is this the end? You have what you wanted out of me, now it’s just awkward conversations and remembering the good times.

As many times as I can, I want to thank you all again. Your support has brought me to a new level, a new leg of this weird-ass writing journey. Expect much less frequent updates here - (unless something CRAZY AWESOME happens) - and come follow me on twitter @gderekadams or on my own blog spell-sword.com.

Dear Friends today is my birthday!!

I have many reasons to celebrate and one of the main ones is that my dream of becoming a published author will become true on November 8th, and that is thanks to all of you.

Because it is my birthday, I want to ask you for a small present. Don’t worry it won’t cost you a penny. I want you to please log into your Inkshares account and follow the project for my second novel Worlds Walker.

      Here is the link

Worlds Walker is the second book in The Catcher’s Trap trilogy, which I’m currently writing. My vision for this second book is exploring the darkest side of human nature. The first book was all about the evil magical creatures from The Mist and the horrors that human slaves had to endure. I want the second book to speak about our own capacity for cruelty and the idea that humans are not only victims or heroes, we are also aggressors.

I will continue working on this draft while uploading chapters and sharing content with you.

My plan is to launch the actual campaign on April 20th, 2017. Yup, you heard right. A year from today, on my birthday, I will be reaching out to all of you for support, so World Walker can become a reality.

Thanks again and have a drink on my behalf!

I don’t know where the line is, but I’m sure International Transport has crossed it in their latest salvo against me. Using beloved children’s puppet Paco to subvert your children into convincing you to boycott my book. Have you seen it?

They have delivered a strongly worded message via encrypted channels, assuring me that were we to reach 250 individual readers they would "PULL OUT ALL THE STOPS." Well, let’s show them we mean business. When we reach 250 readers I will unlock a new amazing giveaway!

In other news, I’m very pleased that I can now formally inform you that the developmental editor I’m working with to put The Punch Escrow in tip top form is none other than beloved science fiction author Robert Kroese, author of the amazing Mercury Falls series, the Dis series, Schroedinger’s Gat, and the upcoming The Big Sheep! Rob and I met through a mutual friend. He was one of The Punch Escrow’s early beta readers. His feedback as a beta reader was so spot on that I knew that he’d be the perfect developmental editor for the book. When the manuscript was finished, I trepidatiously asked him, and he agreed.

I’m now working on implementing many of Rob’s proposed edits to the manuscript - he’s the perfect editor for me because: He knows quantum physics, he gets hard sci fi and humor, and he lives in Michigan too! I am so excited to be working with him on The Punch Escrow.

Thank you so much for your support! Keep spreading the word, and I’ll keep unlocking cool stuff.

          Happy Tuesday, Space Crew!

First, to start things off properly, I need to give a space-sized congratulations to my friend JF Dubeau, who’s successfully funded his second book, A God in the Shed. 750 orders with a few days to spare. Congratulations!

Onto Cup news! I used to think we had a lot of time. Wasn’t it just yesterday I was saying there was a month to go? And now we only have half that.

I know a lot of you are followers who haven’t picked up a copy. But time is running out, and the best way you can show support is to place your orders before the funding period ends.

Those who have ordered, let me remind you what’s in store with your Recommendations. If you’re one of the top three Recruitment Officers you’ll be receiving this prize pack:

So join me in shamelessly spamming this book everywhere. I want my social feeds so filled with this book that I miss out on more interesting things and complain for a moment before remembering how grateful I should be.

          Your Spam-Spamming Space Spamtain,
          -AC
