Mike X Welch liked an update for Grimalkin

Hello readers!

I’ve updated Grimalkin’s ’about’ page with more insight into the story and my approach to writing. I will be sharing Chapter 6 with you soon. Kira and Raphael are so cute. It would be a shame if anything happened to them.

If you have not done so already, please consider pre-ordering Grimalkin so I can have a chance to win a publishing deal in the 2018 Inkshares Horror Contest. If you have already pre-ordered, thank you again for your support. You can continue to help by leaving a recommendation, or sharing the link with family and friends.

Mike X Welch liked an update for Shadow King

    November 2018

    Good morning, everyone.

I hope you’ve been well! We’re a little past one month since Shadow King launched and it has been quite the ride. I had two successful book signing/author events in October and hope to have more in the future. Right now, I’m planning to be at Arisia in January (in Boston). I’ll keep you posted on that.

I was also interviewed by WBZ-AM Radio’s Laurie Kirby for her Women’s Watch segment. You can listen to the interview on the WBZ website if you’re interested.

    IMPORTANT:
If you were one of my early backers and have not yet received your copy of Shadow King OR a link to download the e-book (or both), please contact Inkshares customer service at hello@inkshares.com and they will be able to help you out.

I’ve had a few people ask about their copies -- in most cases, people thought they ordered a hard copy but only ordered the e-book version. But you were all so kind as to support me early on in this adventure, I want to make sure you get your book!

Have a great weekend - and I’ll update again soon (I have two other interviews coming up and will share those links when they’re available!)

    Best,
    Susan

      Hello readers,

To my surprise and delight, Grimalkin rose to 3rd in its first week as an entrant in the 2018 Inkshares Horror Contest, but it’s down to 4th. I’d love your help in pushing it back into the top 3. To those of you who have already pre-ordered Grimalkin, thanks so much for your support. Also, Chapter 5 is now available to read and delves into the question of what’s scarier: mean girls or bloody squirrels?

Mike X Welch liked an update for Ruining Boise

        Hey Fans, Followers, and Fungi,

That one’s for you, Coop. When I was a youngster, we gave everyone nicknames. I still do, so if you don’t have yours yet, just let me know and we’ll get on that.

Ruining Boise update. Haven’t spent a lot of time with it, work is out of control, but I’ve been exploring themes and using Scrivener to create character sketches, map location scenes and capture ideas. This is new to me. I use Scrivener to write—love it as a writing tool—but mostly was blank paging it. My thought is to develop this as far as I can so it becomes a repeatable process to produce an outline to guide the writing. This is the current arrangement, inspired by Mike, that we thought might connect two stubborn authors into an effective collaboration. And to avoid bloodshed. Unless that’s what you really want…I think Mike’s been taking karate…

This is what I’m doing while waiting for the MINE manuscript to come back from my personal editor before sending it back to the Inkshares editor. If anyone out there needs the services of a professional dev editor, reach out. Mine (hehe) is a superstar. The Inkshares editor ain’t no slouch neither. Two superstars for the price of one!

I’m going to start with the opener, storyboard it. I like to jump right into the action, and have an idea for that allows for a lot of showing not telling of the situation...I’ll be sending that to Mike when it’s more fleshy, but don’t want to distract him either, as he’s engaged in writing his 2nd pass on PrOOF, so it may not come for a while. The point is, I’m dabbling with this story line, sketching it around the edges, and if we don’t realize any payoff with this current promotion, we shall return.

Want to mention a few authors who’ve been supportive with a shout out.

Mike X Welch liked an update for Faoii Betrayer

          Greetings, Faoii!

This is a short update. First off, the Audible sales for The Last Faoii have been going incredibly well! And I am so pleased I am able to say that. Many of you might know that I don’t listen to audiobooks, so I was nervous when I decided to put one out for The Last Faoii a month ago. I didn’t know what to expect or what it should sound like. Luckily, I was contacted by an AMAZING and talented voice actress (Sara Morsey) who knew the ropes, and she helped me create something amazing. But again, I was nervous. I was so far out of my element. I didn’t know what I could bring to the table.

I do now. I know exactly what I can bring. I have had SO MANY audiobook aficionados tell me that The Last Faoii holds its own in a world I wasn’t expecting it to be part of. I was afraid to take that step, but I am infinitely glad I did. I feel like I’m finally starting to be part of the seasoned warriors’ circle. And you know what? The Last Faoii is worthy of being here. If you haven’t gotten your audible copy yet, you can do so by going HERE.  It’s free if you create an Audible account. And if you’re an audiobook reviewer who likes strong women leading armies, send me a message either here or on Facebook. I have free promo codes available for bloggers and social media Faoii. Let’s show the world that we’re worthy of being heard.

          s

Now. For Faoii Betrayer. It’s the first day of NaNoWriMo and this year I’ve decided I’m going to work on the novel I promised you a year ago. Today I wrote 2,934 words. I’ve been dragging my heels as I face internal issues here at Inkshares, but I’m willing to give it another shot if you all are. And, even if we decide to go another route, I do still need to finish it. So I’m going to. Because, honestly, it is so much better than you know. I promise you’re going to want to read it. But the only thing that really inspires me to write is you showing me that it’s worth the trouble. Pre-orders do that well.

I’ll post another chapter if we get to 100 pre-orders (you can read the first chapter HERE). Tell your friends. Best-case scenario, we get 750 pre-orders and Inkshares starts taking The Faoii Chronicles seriously and we become something greater than we are. Worst-case, everyone gets their money back. There’s nothing to lose, but so much to gain. Let’s win this war together.

          And Keep those shields up.
          Faoii-Tahani

Mike X Welch liked an update for The Sleeping Man

            My Dearest Reader,

I hope this update finds you well, though I fear many fortnights has passed since my last missive. Life’s changes hath found their way throughout my circumstance as I am no longer in the Naval Forces of these United States. Assuredly, the change was most good for I am working privately in a sector. The work continues, however, and I have been working on another piece of fiction related to and pertaining the first. This work is in its nascent stages, and shall not be available for many months, yet I wanted to make this information available to you. If one is a super reader, I shall give thee access to the draft so you can watch me write it, which promises to be as exciting as to watch the liquid dye on the wall dry.

Lastly, it would be most appreciated if thee were to go on to the site of webs known as Amazon to give me a review of the The Sleeping Man so that my ego can grow to immeasurable size.

            Sweeteth Dreams,

            Stephen Carignan

Post Script, the new work is under:
