I don’t mean to be presumptive or assume I have some knowledge others don’t, but I teach writing as a vocation.
If anyone would be interested in short essays focused on this or that aspect of storytelling, I would be more than happy to write one every week or so on a different subject.
Of course my hope would be that others with training/years in the craft wouldn’t mind throwing their own hat in the writing ring every so often.
Topics might be something like: "Pacing action scenes" "Passive/active blocking" "Dynamic Dialogue" "Passage of time" "Openings" "Show don’t tell" and essays concerning that sort of thing.
I also have a poetics of sorts that deals with the "70/30 split between the strange and familiar" which serves as an essay on the balance between surprising your reader and giving them something familiar enough to draw them in.
Anyway, comment if any of this sounds interesting or you would like to contribute.
Let’s all help each other out.
Cheers,
Jon
