This was cool. I think that's one of the best ways to put it. The first chapter reminds me of the excitement of Contact, with enough geeky tidbits to keep it realistic and very believable.

I've got to agree with Ben on this one. The different different directions that this story could take are boggling, but with an opener like that, it's certain to become quite an exciting adventure.

Coming crashing out of the gate with a delightful (albeit tragic!) first chapter, this work shows great promise. I'm left with just as much curiosity as the protagonist!
