Leo Valiquette liked an update for Tantalus Depths
It’s been a long, long time coming, but it’s finally here. This is the big one, folks. THE big announcement. It’s actually two big announcements, and each would be huge news  on its own. Buckle in, my friends. There’s a lot heading your way.
First bit of news: we have a cover! Tantalus Depths now has a full, professionally designed book cover. I could gush about it endlessly with words, but you know what they say about the word-picture value conversion rate, so let me just show it to you instead:

LOOK at that beautiful thing. That is an image that belongs on a bookshelf. It belongs on MY bookshelf. I want it in my hands right now, and I know you do too. Fortunately, neither of us will have to wait much longer for that.
That brings us to our other big news: the answer to the question we have all been asking for the past six long years. That’s right, my friends: we have our launch date.
May 10th, 2022.
Mark it on your calendars. Put in your vacation requests. Make a reservation for a nice weekend getaway in a cabin in the woods so you can put everything down and curl up with a nice book. MY nice book, because after all this waiting, it will finally be in your hands.
It’s crazy to think after all this time waiting that the big day is just three months away. If I’m honest, it suddenly feels way too close to me. I’ve got a lot to do in the next couple of weeks to make that launch as successful as possible and I plan to spend the entire time panicking. But it’s an excited panic. I truly can’t wait to share this book with you all, and take the next huge step into the future as a fully-published author.
Thank you all for sticking with me this long. It’s been a crazy ride, and it’s only going to get wilder from here.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Mission 51

I have some great new for those of you who supported Mission 51 during the Inkshares/Nerdist Sci-Fi Contest of 2017. It’s been a long time coming, but HERE IT COMES! A link to download your ebook will be arriving to your email this Friday, Feb 4! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to reach this moment.

Many of you also purchased physical books in 2017, and they will be mailed closer to the official publication day of Feb 15, which is less than 2 weeks away. As promised, I signed those books, and they are at the Inkshares fulfillment center as we speak, ready to be mailed to you at the right time. I will be forever grateful for your support during the contest. That is what made this book possible.

As a 3rd and final reminder, if you have moved or changed your email address since 2017, please update your profile on the Inkshares site, so they know where to send your book and/or download link. If you have any trouble at all, they are glad to help you at hello@inkshares.com.

Thanks again for joining me in this wild ride!

Leo Valiquette liked an update for A Prophecy for Two

I’ve been a bit busy, but I wanted to pop in and say – Magician won the Queer Indie Book Award for Best Fantasy! That’s pretty awesome, is what that is – thank you all for loving my magician and his prince. It means a lot, especially for this one, which lived in my head for a decade before I could write it. So, thank you!

Also! Today is a Book Release Day! Spells & Sensibility, book one of the Regency Magicians trilogy that K. S. Murphy and I have been writing, is out now! It’s got…a deadly curse! A former spy! The head librarian of the Royal College of Wizardry! M/M Regency-era magicians, magic, and mysteries! Tea & scones! Starlit first kisses!

You can buy it at Amazon here, or at JMS Books here,or wherever you like to buy books! And we are working on book two, so that’s coming soon…

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Death as a Living

Hello! We’re a month in -- Death as a Living was published just over a month ago, and we’re selling! Thanks to all of you for your support of our project, particularly those of you who bought early knowing there was a wait. That’s showing faith in us, and we deeply appreciate it.

That being said, because the book is moving faster than we expected, the publisher has told us this has led to some further delays in shipping the book to some of you who pre-ordered. Here’s what the publisher’s representative has told us:

"The Ingram warehouse is signaling to us that they’re almost out of stock, and it seems that the copies allotted to ship to Inkshares pre-orders were dipped into for shipping to retailers. This means a few people have not received their copy yet. We’ve heard from several and are setting up re-orders for them. We’re working to get more copies in stock as soon as possible, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. As soon as those are available, we’ll ship copies to those who’ve contacted us about not receiving their book."

If you’re still haven’t gotten your book, feel free to email us at death.as.a.living@gmail.com and we’ll let the publisher know.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Henderson House

            REVISED MANUSCRIPT SENT TO INKSHARES!!

            Dear Henderson House Supporters,

I hope your 2022 is off to a great start! Yesterday, I submitted the revised manuscript for Henderson House to the Inkshares Editorial Team. I read the novel from start to finish on Sunday and I’m very excited about the depth and clarity the developmental edits add to the story. Heartfelt thanks go out to a few trusted readers for helping me get this draft across the finish line!

The revised first four chapters are up on Inkshares, so if you’d like to read them, I’d love to hear what you think. Most of the meat of the editing came later in the novel, but there are some subtle differences in the first four chapters you might pick up on :)

What’s next? The Inkshares Team will re-read Henderson House and decide if the manuscript is ready to move to the next step (copy editing) OR they will send me a second editorial letter and request additional developmental edits and we will go through this process again.

When will you know? Well, that depends on when the Inkshares Team starts reading. Once the team begins reading, it will be at least a month before I hear anything. I will keep you posted.

What are you going to do now? I am going to drink less coffee and get back to working on the sequel Sequoya Road! I’m looking forward to having more time in the day to read other people’s books—just started reading the draft of a friend’s new novel this morning! So fun!

Also, I’m going to get serious about developing my own marketing plan. I will get great support through Inkshares, but I know most of the heavy lifting will be up to me.

If you’re not already following my business page on Facebook, please do. I’m at:

Many thanks for your continued support. We’re gonna hold this book in our hands soon, well, soon in publishing terms :)

            With gratitude,

            Caren

Leo Valiquette liked an update for On Home
              Hi friend!
I can’t believe it’s been five months since On Home came out…and almost four since I’ve emailed you. Oops.I continue to get touching feedback from people who are reading the book, and believe me—it means more than you know! I have loved hearing from each and every one of you. But also know, I am totally not judging if you haven’t started it yet. It is a wild world we’re living in.If you HAVE read the novel, and have a few moments, it would mean so much if you’d leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. It really helps the book and me seem legit and helps it get seen by more people. The review doesn’t even have to be good, though I hope it is, haha. I’ll even send you a sweet enamel pin for your efforts!Speaking of Amazon…screw Amazon. But also, On Home is available as an Audible original audiobook there, which feels pretty amazing. I know this makes it accessible to a lot more people, and I LOVE audiobooks, so hearing my words read by the awesome narrator Erin Spencer is an honor. But also…screw Amazon. If you have yet to purchase the book, or want to get a gift copy, please do so at Bookshop.orgor your local indie bookstore, but if you want the audiobook, yeah…check it out.I’ve been working on all kinds of stuff lately! I got a gig as a stringer for my local paper, and have gotten to cover some cool stuff! I wrote this article on Medium about pregnancy tests and rapid covid tests. I turned in the manuscript for my WVU Press book on the West Virginia punk scene. And I put up the cut prologue for On Home on Kindle Vella. I’ve also been writing a second draft of a romcom that I’m hoping to be ready to query soon!Aside from writing, I’ve been reading a lot, as usual, watching Pen15, listening to Mal Blum, and trying to avoid Omicron. I hope you’re all doing well. Let me know. Becca
