Do do do do

Do do do do do

Do do do do…

The final countdooooooown!

There are now officially 10 days left in Showtime’s pre-order campaign. We’re currently sitting at 243 copies ordered (it’s sure come a long way from Day 1!) and while it’s far from the ideal 750, remember: reaching that number isn’t the only thing Inkshares looks at for publication.

As much as I hate to ask, if you have the means or are feeling particularly generous, would you consider ordering an additional copy? In addition to your book, you’ll also get a virtual high-five and the self-satisfaction of helping someone you like get one step closer to being able to leave his job and write full-time.

Also, for the next ten days, anyone who purchases (or already has purchased) an additional copy—either eBook or print—will be entered to win another Dunkin’ Donuts gift card. eBooks are only $10 and, upon publication, you’ll be able to choose what format in which to download them—so you could even send them as a gift!

A couple years ago, reaching 250 orders was enough for Inkshares to offer a “lighter” publication contract (without most of the bells and whistles). While that’s not the case anymore, 250 orders sure would make for a good case for publication. (Plus, it’s exactly one-third of the “ideal”.) 7 more and we’ll be at 250! That, combined with amount of chapter reads, reviews, and Facebook shares might get us to where we need to be.

Thanks again, everyone. We’re almost through!

    Exciting news!

Showtime has been chosen by Inkshares staff as their Syndicate’s pick for March!

Here’s what they had to say about it:

"We’re excited to throw our support behind this project, which has (rightfully so) received strong buzz on Inkshares. SHOWTIME reminds us of the heady thrills of The Twilight Zone and the haunting suspense of King’s CARRIE."

This is a big deal for a couple reasons. One, it resulted in 16 (!) pre-orders from members of the Syndicate; and two, staff support gives Showtime some added Inkshares publicity and oomph as a strong contender for publication.

We’re currently at 237 pre-orders with 18 days left in the campaign. It’s a big number, but it’s still got a ways to go. I do have many more verbal yeses, but it only matters if they turn into orders. And remember, Showtime doesn’t have to hit the 750 threshold for publication. Other factors matter, too (number of readers, amount of enthusiastic reviews, amount of minutes spent reading my pages), so a big Thank You to everyone who has recently read, followed, and posted reviews. Each one goes a long way to show support for the project.

Thanks again for all your help to get Showtime this far! Writing it was one thing--that was on me--but this campaign really couldn’t have gotten this far without all of you. Please continue to share on Facebook, spread the word, and ask family and friends to order and come along for the ride.

Fingers crossed for more good news!

Almost a month since the last visit from the Donut Patrol? Let’s fix that! Reading my sample chapters and leaving a review by this Friday, March 22nd gets you entered to win a Dunkin Donuts gift card! It doesn’t have to be long--just a sentence or two about what you thought about what you read. Anyone who pre-orders during this time (either newbies or repeats) will receive a bonus entry.

      Chapters 1 through 4 available here: www.inkshares.com/books/showtime

Looking forward to everyone’s feedback! 📖

Lately, I’m trying to select music based off of where a scene is taking place. A scene at a nightclub? Club music. A scene at a beach? Beach music. A scene in the forest? Nature sounds. A scene in Hell? Agonized screams. You get the idea. Seems to be working.
