Chrissy Cook sent an update for The Space Between

A week has passed! Time for your update, fine folk:

1. Work update: Chapter 1 is complete, and will be posted as soon as I finish writing this. As is the case with many, if not most, of these authors, I am a team of one - nothing fancy happening in production here. I have also been having some difficulty retaining my formatting when I upload work here. Thus, if you spot a formatting error (i.e., something that should be in italics but isn’t), please let me know. I am also in the process of searching for a cover artist - people like pretty things, and I would like my work to become one.

2. Syndication: As some of you may have noticed, I have joined a syndicate! Husband (and Merlin) and I sat down and reworked the budget so that I can afford a book a month. As periodic windfalls come in, I’ll be able to pre-order on my own as well, but otherwise, make yourself known to the Nomad Syndicate if you’re a fantasy author, and hopefully we can make some completely platonic and literary magic together!

3. Non-Inkshares Recommendation: As some of you may have noticed, each day I recommend one piece of work and review another book here on Inkshares. Given my rather weak financials, this is the way I feel I can best give back to the Inkshares community that has been so supportive thus far. However, to give you a little taste of what kind of books I’m into (and also what influences likely seep into my own work), I thought I’d give one non-Inkshares book recommendation per week. This week’s is my all-time favourite fantasy series: The Fionavar Tapestry, by Guy Gavriel Kay. I wish I had words to describe this trilogy properly, but I simply don’t. It is epic, magical, and yet extremely real. Although he typically writes historical fantasy, this high fantasy work will likely always remain my favourite by him.

4. We’ve gone into the double-digits in pre-orders! Yay! This is already staggering support as far as I’m concerned. Still, for those people to get their books, I have to shoot for more. If you’ve been waiting for more content before committing, keep your eyes open for new chapters coming out over the next few weeks (today included).

Thank you all, and best wishes!
