Enki stood steely eyed in his boat watching the still, black water’s surface. He slowly lifted his bow and pointed it towards the floating, lifeless bait he had thrown in the water earlier. His eyes scanned the shimmering surface, looking for any signs of movement. A few minutes passed in still silence. Then a large spiked shape appeared just under the water and lunged at the bait. In an instant Enki aimed his bow slightly above the bait and let go the taught wire holding his arrow while exhal. . .

Eya slowly awoke from her slumber. After sleeping for hundreds of years, it can take a while to wake up. The machines surrounded her body like a cocoon, massaging her flesh and articulating her joints. It filled her body with life giving sustenance and mind altering chemicals like a coffee cup laced with cocaine. After several hours she was fully awake and felt her senses come back to fullness. She smelled the aroma of gamma rays and saw the millions of stars around her. She felt the coldness . . .

          Dear Searchers,

I just posted Chapter 3! I’m really proud of it. I will warn you, it involves death, so be prepared!

Please review/comment/recommend/like/quote my book here on Inkshares - or at least tell me what I’m doing wrong if you can’t recommend me in good faith.  I would be eternally grateful!

I’d also like to give something back to all of you, so I’d like to put a name in the book for all of the first 25 backers. You provide the name! (you, your pet, whatever) I have some names already picked out, but I’m not entirely happy with them. I’m talking not just about people, but about things, buildings, historical figures, and so on... So if you’ve already pre-ordered, please let me know! New pre-orders, also let me know!

(PS. I reserve the right to veto names which are too ridiculous)
