Susan K. Hamilton liked an update for MINE

Hello My Lovelies,

Quick note to update progress on MINE, formerly titled Murder Happens. I’ve been plowing through the draft with the editor’s notes, and a crazy system of capturing story particulars via email.

Most ideas come to me either right before I fall asleep, or when I wake up first thing in the morning. These ideas are fleeting, so I grab a mobile device and tap out the gist of it. Then I roll over and go back to sleep.

When I read the note later, it’s usually gibberish without context, but somehow it still works. I’m a kinesthetic learner. I doodle in meetings. My work notes are complete nonsense, but I retain a lot of info in the old Fearce melon.

I work on the story every day. Once again, I’m closing in on the denouement of the manuscript. Second draft. I feel good about it, like it’s ratcheting up toward super tight. Like Dutch (a.k.a. Elmore Leonard) always said, cut out the parts no one reads. I been whacking the crap out of MINE with a hatchet.

If you’re not following along, go here now and do it.

There’s quite a few of you I’ve told that I’ll check out your work, or have bought your book with the intention of reading it, even reviewing it. I fully intend to follow through on those promises, but this juggernaut needs to get finished.

Also, there’s a lot of great books in the Staff Syndicate. The most recent selections are funding. Check them out, too. Pre-order a couple. Pay it forward for when your time comes.

Susan K. Hamilton sent an update for Shadow King

    September 15, 2018

Great news! I just heard from a friend that she has received her printed copy of "Shadow King."

    T

That means if you ordered a printed copy, you should get yours over the next several days (if you haven’t already). And if the emails letting you know your ebooks are available have not gone out yet, you should get that in the near future.

Reviews rule! Once you’ve had a chance to read "Shadow King," please leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews are hugely important when it comes to promoting a book -- and the magic number on Amazon is 50. Once a book gets 50 reviews, it will start appearing in the Amazon recommendations.

I’ll update again soon with more news!

    Best,

    Susan

Exciting news! A few people have sent me notes and I’ve confirmed with Inkshares that the backer copies of "Shadow King" are back from the printer and being packaged up for shipment! I anticipate shipping will happen sometime next week, but will let you know when it has started.

You should get a notice from Inkshares that it has shipped and/or a note to confirm your shipping address.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU HAVE MOVED since ordering "Shadow King" during my campaign, please update your address in the Inkshares system (if you need help, contact hello@inkshares.com). I would hate to have your copy go astray after all this time!

For those of you who ordered the ebook version, I anticipate seeing the final proof of the ebook early next week, and once that is approved you should be receiving a notice from Inkshares when your ebook is ready to download.

Thanks so much -- really looking forward to getting this book into your hands!

Susan K. Hamilton sent an update for The Devil Inside

        August 2018

Hello everyone -- apologies for the recent radio silence on "The Devil Inside." It is still in the pre-production queue, but with "Shadow King" ramping up for its October 2 launch, I’ve really been focusing my attention there.

I have learned from Inkshares that there are about 8 books, give or take, ahead of Devil in the line for the editor. That means official production won’t kick off until sometime in 2019, which is what I had anticipated.

I know many of you also follow my adventures with "Shadow King" but there are several who joined this intrepid band after the Shadow King funding adventure wrapped up. I’d like to invite those who aren’t as familiar with it to stop over at the Shadow King page and check it out (and if you purchased a copy, that would also be amazing!).

I’ll send another Devil update when I have some news to share on production status -- thank you all so much for being so patient while the production process unfolds!

        Best,
        Susan
