I am extremely excited to report that Young Donald passed 300 pre-orders on July 19 (two days ahead of the target!). Thank you so much for the fantastic support. On to 400 now (with a target of August 1).

The Amazon gift card drawings remain wide open: to recap that promotion, (a) if you are responsible for 3 or more pre-orders, you are in the running for a $100 gift card (a handful of people have qualified already - thanks!), and (b) if you responsible for 6 or more pre-orders you are also eligible for a $150 gift card drawing (still only one person eligible for this one).

Finally, please note that Inkshares treats $10, $20 and $60 orders exactly the same (as just one pre-order). But individuals can pre-order multiple times. So a $60 purchase is one pre-order, but six $10 purchases are 6 pre-orders.

I am wildly happy to report that my July 12 goal for Young Donald pre-orders (200) was reached (and in fact slightly exceeded (203))! Reaching that goal raised $184 for Samhati, a non-profit that supports women’s literacy, health and empowerment in rural communities in Bangladesh. Thank you so much to everyone who has pre-ordered and/or spread the word about the book!  Your support is hugely appreciated!

My next goal is 300 pre-orders by July 21. Reaching that next plateau will only be possible with your support and help. With that in mind, the “friends and family” gift card promotion is wide open, with only 3 people so far qualified for the $100 gift card drawing and only one (thank you, Steve Escobar!) also qualified for the $150 gift card drawing. The friends & family promotion is:: (1) everyone who gets at least two friends to pre-order will be eligible for a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card and (2) everyone who gets at least five friends to pre-order will be eligible for an additional drawing for a $150 Amazon gift card. Yes, it counts if the same person orders more than one book.
