A.C. Weston sent an update for She Is the End
Hello, lovely people! Guess what?

My campaign ends in 9 days!

I haven't done a giveaway or contest in quite a while, so there's no better time than NOW. I'd like to finish strong by reaching 400 pre-orders by the end of my campaign. That's 30 more orders... I think I can do it!

So: the next 15 people who pre-order She Is the End (even if you've already ordered it once) will receive a postcard print of my Ladies of Sci-Fi drawing:

But that's not all!

On the back you'll find a thank-you from me, along with a secret.

A secret?

Yeah! A secret!

It won't be a plot spoiler; it will be a bit of interesting information that isn't revealed in She Is the End, but is still significant.

SO! Order now if you want in on the art with a secret!

In other news:

  • Congratulations Tony Valdez!! Dax Harrison sauntered on into Quill just before the end of his campaign and he's now in production!

  • I WILL BE A CHARACTER IN DEUS HEX MACHINA! I get a cameo in the book because I ordered a copy during the Review-a-Thon and I'm super excited to go all cyberpunk. Order this book!

  • I got to hear the first chapter of Lost Generation by Joe Terzieva, and it's amazing. The experience was like the first time I read The Maltese Falcon (when I actually stood up in the middle of Barnes and Noble and started reading out loud because the prose was so strong) crossed with the first time I saw Children of Men. This book is going to be so good. Anyone and everyone should order it immediately.

Happy Almost New Year!!!

    Happy Monday Hexers!

I have lots of news, so I'll get right to it:

First of all, my new book trailer for Deus Hex Machina is up on the funding page, so make sure you check it out.  To go along with it I have officially launched DeusHexMachina.com, which was created by my talented husband.

Thirdly, I am incredibly excited to tell you I got the chance to interview inventor and technology guru Timble Ada. He's one of the fathers of something called "perceptual computing," which seems like it might someday lead to something like the Grid in DHM. Click on over to my blog to check it out!

We're very close to our next giveaway mark -- 60 orders, so if you know anyone who would enjoy a rolicking cyberpunk adventure, be sure to send them our way!

Have a wonderful Monday and a great week!

      Blood Dawn is DONE!

Despite that 4 months of intensive revision lay ahead before I submit to Inkshares, reaching those words, "THE END" (as you'll see if you visit my Instagram here) felt like one of the most significant milestones in what has been 67 weeks of steady commitment to producing a solid draft.

I'm feeling immense accomplishment today!  By finishing Blood Dawn, I have finally translated the entirety of this story from my mind to actual words that other people can read -- and it holds together well and tells a riveting tale.  And by using the editorial coaching program, Author Accelerator, I've been able to absolutely nail my first draft, knowing that the amount of revision required will be completely doable in the four month time frame I've allotted myself. (Check out my timeline if you're curious how that process looks.)

I'm excited now to update my Blood Dawn page to read, "The draft is complete." I'm excited to share this book with readers telling them not only that this book will be published but that the draft is done and it all worked out and I'm now busy making it shine.

If you haven't purchased your copy of Blood Dawn yet, now is the perfect time to do so.

Click here to visit Blood Dawn's page on Inkshares.

Thank you so much for your support!

          Happy all the things!

I don’t care what you celebrate, just make sure you enjoy yourself.

Before I go off and eat all the food and drink all the alcohol, I have some cool news to share with all of you. It’s done. I’ve approved the printer-ready files for both the interior and cover of The Life Engineered. This baby is going to press. The final cover is maybe a little different than you remember though. Have a look:

Oh what’s that? Can’t make out the blurb there? Here, enjoy a close up:

I’m a pretty big Battlestar Galactica fan, so you can imagine how awesome this feels for me. If you don't know who Leah Cairns is, look it up. She's awesome.

As always; I couldn’t have done it without you and hopefully this train keeps rolling forward. I’ll see you guys in the new year. In the meantime, do me a favour; stay safe.

Well, the big day is almost here!  Everyone got all their shopping done?  Made sure you got something special for everyone on your list?

Before you finish of that list, might I suggest you take a peek at Inkshares current contest (https://www.inkshares.com/contests/the-sword-laser-collection-contest-the-sequel) and sending a gift an author's way by way of supporting their project?  I don't want to affect your choice, so I won't highlight any one in particular.  There are a lot of good projects and I know it would mean a LOT to all of those authors if you were to throw a little Holiday cheer their way.

Also, I recommend you go check out the in production or already published list(https://www.inkshares.com/search?genres=All&scope=published%2Cin%20production).  It's chock full of amazing books and many are still offering a buy one get one free deal.  I took advantage of that to get presents for many a friend, spreading the Inkshares logo around the world.  My daughter is now so excited to see a package arrive from Inkshares because she thinks it will be for her or be my book (she hasn't quite latched on the the September 2016 publication date yet).

As for my book, an update is in order.  I'm up to me eyeballs in the developmental edit.  It's a good bit of work and is taking quite a bit of time.  It's not as simple as changing a word here or there.  It's a full on change to conversations, weighing what to keep the same versus what to change.  Needless to say it's slow work, but, in the end, I think it will be better for it.

Also, we made past round two of the cover selection discussion.  We're going with a version the readers have not seen yet but one I think is a fair mix of using the original cover but with a fresh twist on it that pulls in elements others liked from the other options.

              Happy Holidays!
