Oh dear! What the heck happened?

Words to that effect came to mind when I read that Inkshares was refunding the pre-orders that have been placed for the Fairshare Model. I imagine that you had a similar response.

Dear Reader, I apologize for the confusion. What happened was that the deadline for me to get enough pre-orders to get The Fairshare Model edited and published arrived and I was short.

As a result, true to its pledge to those who placed pre-orders, Inkshares cancelled the project and processed refunds that will appear on your credit card this week. If you don’t see a credit, please email me.

The good news is that I still intend to publish The Fairshare Model! I underestimated how long it would take to get the requisite number of orders, but my resolve is undiminished.

Capital structures and valuation are off-putting subjects to many people. For many, its an unfamiliar subject. Those with insight are generally very busy. For both reasons, it’s a challenge to engage people on the idea that innovation in capital structures is possible, let alone attractive.

Midway into my Inkshares campaign, I concluded that it would take an extraordinary effort to get 750 pre-orders by emailing people I knew. A crowdfunding expert told me that someone must receive—on average—six appeals for support before they respond favorably. Yikes! That means at least 4,500 emails!  Far more when you realize that only a small percentage of an audience responds favorably at all.

That insight leads me to be ever-so-thankful for the support you provided via your pre-order.

I began to write articles to promote The Fairshare Model that generated awareness among hundreds of people. I plan to do this regularly now. I also recently created a video presentation for a webinar and plan to put it on YouTube, along with others that feature points made in The Fairshare Model.

Dear Reader, I still want and need your support. I re-started The Fairshare Model project on Inkshares. The link is here   https://www.inkshares.com/books/the-fairshare-model

Please use it to—once again—place a pre-order for The Fairshare Model. Once again, I apologize for the confusion that resulted from the expiration of the project on Inkshares and for the bother involved in placing your pre-order again.  I still need your support!

 With appreciation,

Karl Sjogren  karl@fairsharemodel.com

“Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives.” Just wanted to quickly give a shout-out to my homie Billy Shakespeare. That’s from his latest novel “Macbeth,” now trending on inkshares.

Please tell me you didn’t fall for that. Only a slice of the above is true; that quote is indeed from Macbeth. It is one of my all-time favorites. If I’m reading it right, it means that saying is not the same as doing. So in the spirit of DOING, I wanted to give an ACTUAL shout-out to two dear friends of mine who ARE DOING IT, whose books truly ARE trending on inkshares right now.

The books of Mr. Zachary Tyler Linville and Mr. Richard Heinz were mentioned on Publisher’s Weekly top anticipated books released in Fall 2016. THIS IS HUGE NEWS! I’ve personally had a few peeks into their stories and I can vouch for this praise. I’d say “these books will be great,” but the truth is, I already know they are. If you haven’t invested in a copy of them, what are you waiting for? (Saying “Publisher’s Weekly’s endorsement!” is an answer that doesn’t hold up any more, bub.)

There have been other, newer, projects that caught my eye on Inkshares also. If you can click a mouse button more than once, I’d highly recommend you do so HERE (“Destiny Imperfect”) and then HERE (“The Glorious Denial”), in no particular order. Read the chapters you find there. They’re good. Good enough to spend money on. I say so from experience.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a scene to write in which an owl fires cobalt-colored lightning bolts at a fox while he clambers up the side of a landmass hovering mid-air because of some distortions in his world’s magnetic field. Some weird, complicated, science-or-sorcery stuff in “The Animal in Man”, folks. In Billy’s spirit of DOING, I #AmWriting. Stay tuned.

Listen... sure, I said the 17th. Did I try? Oh, baby, you bet I did. Did life decide that the 17th was the perfect day for a combination of hard drive failure, needing a new car battery, and a bunch of smaller nonsense that literally took up every waking hour? Apparently.

Criminey, being an adult is annoying. You know what isn’t? Having a brother who knows lots of stuff about cars AND owns all the tools to prove it. That, folks, is straight up awesome!

Unfortunately, while I’m done with the art I promised I’m having some... uh... issues posting it here in non-giant size. Apparently these updates are a little weird about images, so I posted it on Twitter (I’m @SixelaZed). It’s a base design for Saan-Hu’s outfit, minus accessories.

I have similar designs ready for the other six "main" characters, so I’ll dole those out over time.

And, of course, here is the download link for the first four chapters of Blurred Weaponry with proper formatting and errything.

      http://bit.ly/28JrXVW

There are four versions available: .epub, PDF, DOCX, and a DOCX with yellow background for readability. Download, read, enjoy, share as much as you like, and / or review on Inkshares.

Thanks a whole lot and plus a bit of a bunch for following this project.

      Yours in typing,
