I really like the idea, it's original to me. I also found the writing flowed well, and felt like I was reading a regular book from the bookstore. The descriptions are good, but not too exaggerated, instead feel natural.
One of the most compelling reads i have found in a long time can't wait to read more.

The opening scene instantly transported me back to my own childhood spent playing in the wooded hills and hollers, and the nostalgia it provided only deepened the sense of dread which was soon to follow. As the story progresses Mr. Dubeau expertly uses dialogue and narration to add to this and in doing so creates a sense of true horror, be it that of death most savage, supernatural terror, or worst of all the darkness in the heart of mankind. As we follow the trail to the heart of the mystery of the events which have been transpiring in town, we are brought fully into events through excellent description and characterization. I certainly can't wait to see where its all heading.

The God in the Shed is a lot of fun. Seriously, a lot. Today is the Review-a-Thon and I'm behind my quota because I just couldn't stop reading! It's a true page-turner. What I really love is that the scene begins as an innocent but enthralling detective-murder mystery. And then it just morphs into something else. Full of all the stuff we love in fantasy-horror, but it's the unpredictability that sets The God in the Shed apart from the rest. J-F Dubeau always knows where you're going, but you, the reader never will. The mark of a true master storyteller!
