What a fantastic idea. Looks like I've found a stocking stuffer for a few family members next Christmas.

      Hi Everybody,

Having introduced you to the world of Thomas Rivenport, I thought it would be good to acquaint you with his other half, so to speak, Diggory. Therefore, I have uploaded an excerpt from the sixth chapter of the book’s second half. Here, the poor boy Diggory attends a traveling carnival with Helen, his future wife and rebellious rich girl. Of course, they get into some trouble.

      Enjoy...

Billy O’Keefe liked an update for Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady

        Sadie Fans,

With only 7 days left to reach our goal, we only need 78 more book pre-orders to make sure "Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady" is published and available nationwide before the 2016 general election.

If you already purchased one copy for yourself, consider purchasing a second copy for your local school or library. If you already purchased your limit of 10 copies per reader, consider e-mailing our Inkshares link to a list of friends and asking them to help this empowering, new picture book published! If you’re aren’t sure how many copies you have already ordered, send me an e-mail and I can check that for you, no problem.

        DETAILS:

        • Books are only $10 during this crowd funding period.
        • Each reader (by email account) can support this project by purchasing up to 10 copies.
        • "Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady" needs 78 more orders to trigger publication.
        • These 78 orders must be received by February 29, 2016.
        • The publication process will take 4-6 months, making books available beginning in the summer of 2016.

Billy O’Keefe liked an update for Murder at the Veterans’ Club

          1) www.peterkin-investigates.com is now live. Dang, but I need a better book cover. Not to fear though, better art ought to be making itself known over the next week. Right now, peterkin-investigates.com doesn’t do much more than lead right back to the project page on Inkshares; but it will eventually play host to a bunch of new and interesting things.

          2) Faith, author of A Cup for the Dead, has started an author’s blog, A Recipe for Murder, dedicated to that golden interbellum age of civilised murder. I encourage you to go check it out; and her book while you’re at it: that book does an excellent job of evoking the joie de vivre of those roaring ’20s.

          3) The pre-order campaign is expected to begin at Easter. Watch this space, folks!

Billy O’Keefe liked an update for An Unattractive Vampire

            CONTINUING COVERAGE OF EVENTS

            Hey folks,

So, it happened. I received the final e-mail from Girl Friday, the production company that has been handling all things editorial and the final version has been sent to the printers! It’s done! We did it! (Well not quite yet. I’ll get to that.) Thank you to everyone at Girl Friday for being great and pushing me to make my book the best it could possibly be.

So from here on out, it’s all about pushing the book for me! To that end, there are some pretty big deal happenings that you should be aware of starting with...

A LAUNCH PARTY! Yep. It’s been confirmed. An Unattractive Vampire will be coming out in style here in Chicago with an official launch party at Bucket O’ Blood Books and Records. So in the midst of your St. Patty’s Day stupor come out (please come out) and buy a book or get your book signed and say hi and then go back to green beer and vomiting on sidewalks, a Chicago tradition. For more information about Bucket O’ Blood you can visit their website or Facebook page.

Also...THE SWORD AND LASER! In very much another "crossing off a life goal" moment, I will be appearing on The Sword and Laser podcast on March 15 (PUBLISHING DAY). So you’ll be able to listen to me stumble through a haze of glee and make a fool of myself very soon. Also, if you have any questions for me (looking at you other authors) head over here and ask them. I have wisdom dammit! Let me share it!

Finally, the Nerdist space opera contest is still going strong with a just under a month to go. If you happen to like starships battles and alien wars, you might want to head over there and check it out. Here are a few suggestions:

The Madness of Mr. Butler by Michael Haase: The tale of an eccentric old man on a far away planet desperately trying to prove that his world is a sphere circling a star. Also, God talks to him through an astronauts helmet.

Aurora by Taylor Hopkins: A bounty hunter faces off against a criminal mastermind in a planet-hopping adventure. The sample chapter reads like a combination of Alien and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Lucky by RH Webster about a woman hitching a ride back to earth from the dusty end of space. I’ll be honest, there aren’t a lot of details about the plot for this one, but the writing is REALLY good.

            Anyway, until next time everyone.

Billy O’Keefe liked an update for The Inhabitants: An Unremembered Life

              Hi everyone!

I reached (and surpassed) 90 unique readers yesterday, so I made a raffle video late last night. That being said, any pre-orders today weren’t included in the drawing, but will be in the next.

Also, like I’ve said before, when I hit 100 readers, I will be raffling a $50 Amazon gift card in addition to the traditional prizes.

So, here it is. Check it out if you’ve won:

              https://youtu.be/SnuIx0myPWM

I will contact the winner later via e-mail.

I’ve been straddling the line between campaigning and writing lately, just to let you know where I’m at. If you know anyone who might be interested in my novel, please send them in my direction.

As always, thanks for everyone’s support!
