Friends, authors, book-lovers...Lend me your ears!

Yesterday I pushed "create" on the ol’ syndicates page, bringing to life a new kind of syndicate: one focused on readers. It’s called the Inkshares Book Club, and its purpose is to get readers talking about Inkshares books.

Here’s how the syndicate works:
We will be backing books on an alternating schedule. Every other month we will back an available book. That is to say, a book that will be delivered immediately to the group. On the "off" months, we’ll back funding projects.

We’ll be discussing the book, chapter-by-chapter and as a whole, on the Inkshares forum.

One of the most important things to me about this syndicate is conversation, so I want to make sure that everyone who wants can participate in the discussion. You don’t need to be a member of the syndicate to join the discussion, but we’d certainly like you to be.

That’s all for now. Please go check out the syndicate, and encourage reader-friends of yours to join up!

Listen... sure, I said the 17th. Did I try? Oh, baby, you bet I did. Did life decide that the 17th was the perfect day for a combination of hard drive failure, needing a new car battery, and a bunch of smaller nonsense that literally took up every waking hour? Apparently.

Criminey, being an adult is annoying. You know what isn’t? Having a brother who knows lots of stuff about cars AND owns all the tools to prove it. That, folks, is straight up awesome!

Unfortunately, while I’m done with the art I promised I’m having some... uh... issues posting it here in non-giant size. Apparently these updates are a little weird about images, so I posted it on Twitter (I’m @SixelaZed). It’s a base design for Saan-Hu’s outfit, minus accessories.

I have similar designs ready for the other six "main" characters, so I’ll dole those out over time.

And, of course, here is the download link for the first four chapters of Blurred Weaponry with proper formatting and errything.

        http://bit.ly/28JrXVW

There are four versions available: .epub, PDF, DOCX, and a DOCX with yellow background for readability. Download, read, enjoy, share as much as you like, and / or review on Inkshares.

Thanks a whole lot and plus a bit of a bunch for following this project.

        Yours in typing,
        Michael Valdez

Amanda Orneck liked an update for Devil’s Call

          Gentle Reader,

As always, huge thank you to everyone who has preordered this humble project so far. Your support has sustained me thus far, and continues to mean the world to me.

This update is to inform folks on both sides of the fence of an exciting turn in the tale of this story’s journey towards publication: after receiving notes back and discussing the plot and the characters with my beta readers, Devil’s Call is going to double in length and quadruple in scope. (My math may not be accurate; I’m a writer, not an algebra teacher.)

What does this mean for you?

If you’ve already placed your order, it means you’re getting twice the story for the same price. It also means I’ll be borrowing a page from Amanda Orneck’s book (not literally, although you should head on over and get a copy of Deus Hex Machina if you haven’t already) and releasing chapters off-site, so you can start reading the finished novel ahead of publication, which is pretty dope.

If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, this means you’re getting a discount. Sure, if you wait for the eBook to publish on Amazon, you’re technically saving money in the long run, but it’s a hypothetical run, and a short one. Devil’s Call won’t make it to Kindle or Nook or any other platform without enough funding in the next 44 days, which is why it’s super important for you to head on over, preorder your copy, and then tell everyone you know how awesome this book is and why supporting independent authors is super important. Plus, you get a signed copy and bragging rights.

"You know that book everyone’s raving about? I helped get it published. I am a freaking badass."

          You guys are the best,
          J.

Hi all! I am only 9 pre-orders away from reaching 100 orders so I could really use your support in getting there! As soon as I hit 100 I will release Chapter 3 - Cheat Code, in addition to the 3rd piece of the painting. If you are following AYSYWTQ? and haven’t pre-ordered yet you should! :D Plus, thanks to Duncan Rafferty and Amanda Orneck, I have an awesome new cover so thank you both I really appreciate it!

This past Saturday I had an awesome time as a guest on the pilot episode of Women Slaying Stories, where Episode 1 was titled "Game On." On the episode, Elayna Mae Darcy, Amanda Orneck, A. C. Weston, and I discuss being a creative woman in both video gaming and writing so check it out on my bio page! It’s so nice to meet other fellow lady gamers/authors who share the same passions as I do.

            Thank you all for following!!
