Scott Brunner

Scott Brunner is an Alabama native, a former commentator on NPR’s All Things Considered program and author of two volumes of creative nonfiction – ’Due South’ and ’Carryin’ On’ – both published by Villard.

It’s 1974 rural Alabama. A visiting preacher invites a black man into the worship service at a small all-white church, washes the man’s feet, the water seems to turn to blood – and then all hell breaks loose in the little town.
