Oh really? I didn’t realize AMoD was the third book. And I like that idea about the giveaway! I was panicking a little bit when I realized I was going to have to start thinking about swag!

I don’t know how much of a "fanbase" I have per se, but I have been able to build up my social networks more as a result of publishing the first book, so I do have that going in.

G. Derek Adams just released Asteroid Made of Dragons, which is third in a series. I suspect you have more of a fanbase than most of the rest of us did when we started, so maybe you’d have an easier time reaching full funding. Previous books in a series are a great giveaway to convince people to order the next one. I say go for it!

Oh really? I’m going to have to look that up! I keep on gearing myself up to participate in one of the contests; but really what I’m doing is avoiding Book 2 because I’m nervous about it. I think I need to just dive in and DO EET.

I don’t see any negative consequences. You could even re-launch the first book on Inkshares. That’s what JF Dubeau did with The Life Engineered.

So I’ve got a superhero series that I initially published with an indie shop. They folded and I re-published the first book myself on Amazon. ’Nightingale’ is starting to pick up steam again and I’m ready to dive back in to Book 2. I really love the platform here and would love to use Inkshares to find a readership.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on selling Book 2 of an existing series that’s already been started outside of Inkshares?
