Thank you @Kyle T. Cowan !

Dear Readers and Supporters,

I have some astonishing news to report! Yesterday FAE CHILD was picked by the Break the Bechdel (With Strong Female Characters) syndicate as their December book! And then today the Staff Syndicate picked it for THEIR December book! That has whooshed Fae Child up from 95 orders to 149 orders. We are over HALF-WAY THERE.

Thank you to the members of both syndicates for their belief and support of Fae Child. I am overwhelmed by all of this, and it may take some time for it to fully sink in. Thank you!

We have until the end of February to scrape together 101 more orders - will it be difficult? Yes. Can we do it? YES.

Click the Recommend buttons and tell your friends, enemies, people who like books, people who have kids who like books, people who enjoy telling other people "I knew them before they were famous" - let’s get the word out on Fae Child. Thank you all so very, very much. I have some names to pick for Beanie Boo giveaways now, ha!

Much love and a Merry Christmas/holiday of your choosing,

Jane-Holly

Congrats!!!

Hello Readers and Followers!

This is just a short update to let you know that I have chosen to extend the Fae Child campaign one more time. Instead of ending on December 31st, I will be on this crowdfunding rollercoaster through the end of February. Fae Child has been getting some good buzz on Inkshares in the syndicates, and I want to be able to capitalize on that and give myself some space after the holidays are over to pull in more orders. We are very close to 100 orders, and it’s just a hop and a skip from that to 250. Okay, okay, it’s a little more than that, but I really think we can do it together, and I really believe in this book. Picture Fae Child as The Little Book That Could, and we’re chug-chugging up Preorder Mountain. Thank you so much for your support, and your patience.

Another update? Already?

Just a quick one, I promise! I have made some gift certificates you can print up if you want to preorder Fae Child as a Christmas/holiday present. The PDF file is here, on Google Drive, and is available for ebook or paperback orders.

Still chugging along, on our way to 250 orders! I am considering requesting another extension from Inkshares, and I will if Fae Child is getting orders and support but will still fall short at the end of the year.

Thank you!
Jane-Holly

Hello Readers and Followers,

Fae Child is currently at 89 copies sold. At this point I am no longer in any contests on Inkshares, only in the race to 250 copies sold before December 31st.

My stuffed animal giveaway for orders 71-80 has been drawn, and Maria Aleman was the winner of the pink dragon! Thank you so much for your support, Maria. All three mythical creatures have now been boxed up, and I hope to send them out on Monday.

That being said, I am going to announce my next giveaway! This one will include referrals! For every 15 orders (so 81-95 is the next targeted group) I will be giving away another toy. I will also add in the names of everyone who referred one of those orders - if you have a friend you know has bought the book on your recommendation, email/PM/DM me their name and I will add yours to the hat. ADDITIONALLY - if you refer 10 or more orders before the end of the campaign I will send you a super special prize. I haven’t determined exactly what it will be yet, but probably a Pop! or Funko figure.

Don’t forget to review or recommend Fae Child through the Inkshares site. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for all the support: having friends, family, and my new Inkshares family coming together and believing in me and Fae Child has been wonderful.

Dear Supporters,

We now have a set of pictures - here is a look at Foster, the young elf boy who has accidentally brought Abbie through into the Otherworld.

Preorders have stalled out, with zero orders for the last week and a half, leaving us still with just 77 books ordered. I have been continuing to work on the book, taking November (as Nanowrimo) not to write 50,000 words, but to set a new writing schedule by getting up earlier every day so I have some quiet time alone with my keyboard. So far, so good!

I know I have a great story on my hands, and I want you to be able to read it. Please get the word out to your friends, or relatives. There are less than two months left in the preorder campaign.

Thank you for your support!

The Geek & Sundry fantasy novel contest ends tomorrow at noon. Fae Child is sitting back in 18th place - out of about 400 entries, that’s pretty good. Respectable, even. But I don’t want to be respectable, I aim to misbehave. ;)

Any order in the next 23 hours will bump me up in the standings of the contest, up the book’s visibility, and better my chances of being published. It would mean a lot to me that if you’re waiting for a perfect moment to preorder, that you would do it now. If you’ve already made an order, ordering another won’t help me in the last hours of the contest. They track individual readers, so get your friends or family to order. We can do it! Here’s the link: http://inkshares.com/books/fae-child

Thank you all for your support - even if it’s just reading through these emails and clicking "like", or sharing Fae Child on Facebook or Twitter. Every little bit helps. NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow, and, although I’m not exactly participating, I will be finishing up the book manuscript. Then, when my preorder campaign ends at the end of the year, I will be getting into the second draft and some serious editing.

Special shoutout to everyone in the G&S contest, especially the top 10 who, quite frankly, amaze me. Together we can all finish this contest out as strong as we’re able.

Hello all!

Fae Child is still moving forward. I have been working on the manuscript in my spare time, and hope to have it completed in the next two months. In other words, before the campaign is over! We have 67 days left to make 175 orders (to reach Quill) which means I just have to sell 2.6 copies every day until the end of the year! Is this insurmountable? No, it isn’t, but it does mean that I’m going to have to start doing something different, because what I have been doing is only bringing in 2-3 orders a week.

In that vein (of making changes) I have commissioned a bit of artwork. This is Abbie, after she first comes through the pond into the Otherworld.

There will be more to come! Please share Fae Child’s link with your friends, and make use of the "recommend" button on the page. I am thinking up a giveaway for referrals to launch after we’ve hit 80 preorders and I’ve given away the last dragon.

Thank you all for your support,

Jane-Holly

Dearest Readers,

The end of the Geek and Sundry Fantasy contest approaches, and while Fae Child is in about 18th place out of nearly 400 entries (respectable), I’d like to bring your attention to WITHERFIST, a book written by my good friend Jenny Graham-Jones. She has gotten up to 9th place, and could go even higher in the two weeks left in the contest. "The true name of a demon is inked into her flesh. To return to her daughter and home, the warrior Irusai must break the binding the ink has created. In doing so, she will ally with a princess in exile and together bring justice to the Last Empire." There are three sample chapters up, each from a different character’s point of view, and they are well worth reading to find out how wide and amazing the world of Witherfist is.

There is also another contest running on Inkshares right now, sponsored by Crypt TV, for horror books. APEX is written by my fellow Oregonian, Deborah Munro, and she is in third place right now and guaranteed publication if she can hold onto third until Halloween. If you would enjoy a Critchon-esque thriller, check it out! "When Jason, an undercover FBI agent, goes to Oregon to investigate reported wolf-attacks on livestock, he’s already skeptical. After seeing that five hundred pound cattle are being decimated by their mysterious predator, he becomes increasingly convinced that something else is responsible. Meanwhile, a scientist named Claire who Jason knows used to work at a research facility in Japan some years back before it exploded under suspicious circumstances, is conducting top secret research behind high walls. What is the connection between the work she was doing in Japan and the work she’s doing now in Oregon? The only things he knows for sure are that she has secrets to hide, and that whatever is causing these deaths is NOT an ordinary wolf…"

Now, back to Fae Child’s news! We have crested 70 books ordered, which means I drew the next winner! Julie Rebideaux chose the pink unicorn as her prize, which means after we hit 80 orders I’ll give away the last toy, the pink dragon. And then, who knows, I might just buy some more because these are fun to hand out. ;) Please keep on recommending my book to your friends who like to read, every mention helps.

Enjoy your evening/day, and thank you for your support!

Jane-Holly
