Flood away I say. Seeing the momentum of this book's following is as exciting as reading the excerpts you have lain in front of our eyes.

Not to flood everyone's inboxes, I know I've already sent out one update today, but I just wanted to let everyone know that my main page has been updated to include an About The Author section. If you're willing to share your time and energy on my book, the least I can do is let you know a little about myself. Thank you all again,

-Zac

201 pre-orders! Wow! As promised, another chapter has been sent out. You'll see this isn't Chapter 2, but actually Chapter 4. Don't worry, events from chapters 2 and 3 aren't spoiled by this, as Welcome To Deadland alternates perspectives between three core characters as well as showing events and their personalities after the breakout and before. Seeing where they came from to where they are now. I chose to send Chapter 4 because it is a first look at Rico, but also it is a slight change of pace from Chapter 1. Hope you all enjoy it, and I'm looking forward to receiving additional feedback. There is also a small additional sneak peek posted to Welcome To Deadland's Facebook page you won't want to miss. As always, I'm so grateful for all of you.

99 Readers and 189 pre-orders! Here's to hoping to cross the "100 Readers" threshold by the end of the night. As an added incentive, when Welcome to Deadland reaches 200 pre-orders, 20% of the 1,000 pre-order goal outside of the Nerdist Contest, I will release a second complete chapter in celebration and as a thank you for all of your interest and support. The first draft is complete, but I continue to work hard on editing. While doing so it is my pleasure to release additional excerpts as we reach milestones.

If you've placed an order already, first and foremost my greatest appreciation, but I also ask for help spreading the world and referring friends. The better Welcome To Deadland performs, the greater chance you will all be able to receive a copy and experience the story I have poured myself into. If you're following my progress, I am still greatly thankful for you as well and hope that as the contest moves forward I continue to intrigue you and make it worth your while.

I've created a Facebook page, which can also be followed at Facebook.com/WelcomeToDeadland

Thank you all again.

Today has been an exciting day for Welcome to Deadland, as I received a shout out from the Tribeca Film Institute! As promised I've sent out Chapter 1 to everyone, looking forward to hearing thoughts and opinions. I'm entirely thankful for everyone that has placed a pre-order, and for those following Welcome to Deadland I'm hoping that Chapter 1 will help to entice you into placing a pre-order as well. I will be checking out additional writers, and wishing everyone the best.

Congratulations on this feat. I enjoyed your prologue, as so many others certainly must have. I sincerely hope you hold this spot till the very end. Well done you! I'm looking forward to Chapter 1. Thanks very much!

After 48 hours I'm excited to announce that today Welcome To Deadland  has crossed 100 pre-orders, and is maintaining the top spot in The Nerdist Contest! I can't thank those that have placed a pre-order enough, and as a Thank You I will be sending out Chapter One to each of you tomorrow. For my additional followers I hope to be able to garner your interest and intrigue so that you too will want to know more.

I like the concept.  Good luck in the contest!

Thank you everyone who has pre-ordered a copy of Welcome to Deadland! I've taken the number one spot for Nerdist, and I can't wait to keep this momentum moving! I can't do this on my own, and I appreciate everyone helping me achieve this dream.

"What was your personal inspiration that motivated you to write this particular story?" -Lepatina

While in college I worked at a very well known theme park in Orlando, FL where I frequently spent long days in the heat surrounded by swarms of guests. There were periods where my mind would wander and my imagination would get the best of me, and I would think of what would happen if there was a breakout in such a tightly packed area and what my plan of action would be to survive. There were several obvious vantage points such as roller coasters and the castle, which were my general go-tos. The characters and the rest of the story naturally unfolded, but the sweltering heat and the park itself served as most of my inspiration.
