Historical novels rarely questions to the truth about the past and certainly, rarely adds anything biblical but this one does. I like that. This is not common knowledge of American history.

How would the Christian God be perceived by Native Americans who made a genuine effort to understand Christianity? This is the intriguing theme on which this book opens - and it's a theme that, in the beginning at least, offers many more questions than answers. J. Mikhael Adams has a sharp eye for detail, and anchors his story firmly in the sights, sounds and smells of the nineteenth-century American frontier. I'm ready to find out more.

This book looks amazing. The history is well-researched and the writing is strong. Definitely worth a look if you're an American history buff!

It is the ultimate question... Why would a loving God allow such suffering and injustice in the world?  “Watchfires Against The Lord” promises to tackle this very question, and the fact that the author is a Pastor and student of theology only adds to the intrigue. The great writer, Milan Kundera, once wrote that “the silence of God is a pain only humans can feel.”  This concept inspired much of my own writing, and I look forward to seeing how J. Mikhael Adams handles one of humanity’s most burning questions.
