Sep 8, 2015

Well, well, well. Seems that we are approaching 80 Pre-orders and 60 Readers. Interesting developments and only until Sept 30th is the Nerdist Contest. Thank you all for your help. Today was a lot of the promotional side of the coin...which went well. You have to let people know about your book after all. Here is a bit of Chapter 11 for all of you new readers and to the ones who have been there a bit longer. Spread the word, share the posts. Also, leave reviews and highlight your favorite passages. All this helps. Thank you one and all. I leave you with:

Somewhere below, a firecracker was going off. I threw the craft into a steady hover. Small little bursts of fire were lighting up the immediate sky. What was going on down below would have made the Universal Fairs of Garx and Trilom look like a swap meet from the Corm University of Ulish. There was more. Firecrackers of Blue, Green, Red and...black, the duds. A couple meters away was Sulfice Drumholt, the King was always one for the grand entrance, and here he was again, all his faces alongside in his sidecar. Fifteen firecrackers on each side of his Macy's parade float were spinning, rigged fireworks pointed in 45 degree angles from their center wheel spokes.

“Your highness!" I swallowed my pride and addressed him proper. There was no reason for any reciprocity. We were the same, even if this mad bomber had no face to show his disgust, there was no reason to wear mine.

His royal highness looked up at me, plain, with no mask, just--a canvas empty--swirls of watered down colors. The King looked very odd without any of his masks. A look of weakness and helplessness. He was a lost soul, no eyes for someone to gaze into. He reached into his robes and removed the comedy mask and placed it upon where his face would have been. A quick lock, and with a gentle twist, the mask locked in.
