Update #4: Oct 5, 2015

Good Morning everyone! The Nerdist contest is now over, and although there are 42 days (the answer to life, the universe, and everything) left on the TIMESPLICE Inkshares campaign I can say with reasonable certainty that it won't make its goal.

Nevertheless! The funding goal was never something that I reasonably expected to meet, nor is it the reason I am writing this book. I am writing this book because it is something I want to do, and it is something that I want to share.

So this update is to let you know that I will keep doing that. You can continue to follow my updates to TIMESPLICE at http://www.garretrempel.com/ where Chapter 2 has now been posted in its entirety and next Monday the first parts of Chapter 3 will start going live. And also here at Inkshares, as long as this project is active I will continue to post updates. Chapter 4 will be coming to you in 2 weeks time (on Oct 19th) as I am just finishing it up and I want to discuss it with my editor first.

I hope you all have a great week, and thanks for reading!

Update #3: Sep 15, 2015

Good day everyone! I know that I am a bit late with this update, and that I missed sending one out last week. I am afraid that there was a death in the family and hence the delay.

I wanted to let you know that the first two parts of Chapter 2 are online at http://www.garretrempel.com/ in addition to the complete 2nd chapter being available here (in Update #2). I have a few revisions I am working on to the first two chapters, minor details, but significant enough in their own right. One of the challenges of putting together a puzzle is that it is difficult to gauge what is obvious and what is subtle - and how subtle is too much so.

Next week I will plan on posting Chapter 3 here on Inkshares, as well as formatting and posting Chapter 2 in a more site-friendly format.

I hope you are all doing well, and thank you for reading!

Update #2: Aug 31

Good day to everyone, and to everyone new who has started reading TIMESPLICE or pre-ordered, thank you for your support!

I've just finished publishing the full first chapter online at (http://www.garretrempel.com/) this morning, and now it's your turn for some new material.

The following link is the complete Chapter 2 (in RTF format) as promised. This is the content that I will be publishing online over the next 8 weeks (or so, I tend to get impatient with the publishing pace that I set myself, so if I make good progress on Chapter 4 and finish it sooner then I'll speed it up).

I will also add this content as a Chapter on Inkshares when I can sit down and fiddle with the formatting in order to make it look right. As for writing progress, I am currently finishing up the last couple of "scenes" in Chapter 3 which now officially contains the longest single scene I have written to date.

So once again, thank you, and I hope you enjoy this next installment of TIMESPLICE.

Update #1: Aug 24

Welcome to Timesplice, and thank you for reading and supporting this project! This book is an idea that I have been turning over in my mind for a couple of years, long enough that I have mapped out much of its arc. The hard part was going to be sitting down and writing it. It just happens to be a wonderful coincidence that I decided to start writing and publishing it online (http://www.garretrempel.com/) not long before I discovered Inkshares and the Nerdist contest.

So I figured, why not give it a try? In the end if it gets published, great! I would love to hold a physical copy in my hands some day. But, if not... then it will still get written, and it will still get published online to be freely available to everyone who wants to read it - week by week.

For supporting this project of mine, as readers, and as pre-orders, I will be giving you all access to material that have not yet published online. Next Monday (Aug 31st) I will be dropping the remainder of Chapter 1 online on my website, and at the same time I will send you an update that includes the complete Chapter 2, which will only be published online over the following 8 weeks, piece by piece.

So thank you! And I hope you will enjoy Timesplice and continue reading it in whatever form it is available.
