Hey folks,

Thanks so much again for your support on this project. I’m going to try to update a little more often going forward, but I appreciate you coming on board early and having patience with me!

As you might have seen, I added a new chapter last night. The new chapter, Homecrossing, is the opener for the book. It seems like Thrum is the odd man out in that it doesn’t have a prologue. Hopefully you’ll forgive me for not subscribing to that particular fantasy trope.  I’d love to hear what you think of this opening.  Does it make you curious? Can you picture the world? Can you hear it? Senses are really important

I didn’t really "get" how this works before, and so the first chapter I uploaded, The Flame Cure, was from the middle of the book. I figured I’d put up the section that was in the best shape as my "show piece", but it turns out that’s kind of not how this works, so the chapters that are here now don’t make sense together.

I’ll be fixing that over the coming weeks as I prep and upload the work in progress. The first draft of the book isn’t finished yet, so I’ve set myself a rule that I have to write at least as many new words as I’m planning to upload before I’m allowed to add another chapter. So things should start to get busy both on this site and at my keyboard.
